1 Answer
  • AI-generated
A: Yes, this mixture is designed to crowd out weeds and can be used for overseeding an existing lawn. Combining grass and clover seeds often creates a more resilient ground cover than either alone, and the microclover feeds the turf to help it grow in various soil conditions.

Q: will it grow in zone 10a

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, the nX-Seed MicroLawn Clover and Grass Seed Mixture can grow in zone 10a, as the clover and fescue components are suited for this climate. The tall fescue and perennial ryegrass in the mix perform best in cooler seasons, but the microclover and a proper care regimen help it tolerate warmer climates.

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "Yes, this can be used for Fall/Winter overseeding in North Carolina depending on the soil temperatures. As the soil temperatures drop below 45 degrees, the seed will most go dormant until Spring temperatures bring soil temperatures back up."

Q: Are the grasses and clover dog safe and resistant tp dog urine?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. The clover and grasses in X-Seed MicroLawn are safe for pets once established and after the area has been watered in and allowed to dry. Like most lawns, however, no grass or clover is completely resistant to dog urine—spots may still appear with frequent exposure.

Lawn in partial shade - from bare dirt to ?

Planted and watering, hasn't come up yet. Will update review as I see progress one way or the other. Asking for a review for seed before the 14 days it takes to sprout results in an incomplete review. Will it be amazing? Will it epically fail? I am hoping for the former, but time will tell.

Came up green and mostly looks like clover to me

Came in quite well in 2 areas. Even though there is only 5% clover, when I look at it it looks like mostly clover. And yes it flowers and bees like it. What I've noticed is that the under canopy stays damp which is good for the need to water less but maybe not so ideal for mowing. I wait until late in the afternoon to mow. First time I sowed by just a seed spreader then lightly rake manure over red clay. It was ok but I could always see lots of seeds so not sure how well that worked. Next time I spread seeds then hand spread a bit of soil/manure blend over the top so the seeds were covered. Water for a week or so to make sure stuff stays damp. Had sprouts in a few days. It's very dense. The actual fescue stays low, maybe 8" max. Seems to slow down growing so I kinda stopped mowing it so much, maybe once every 2 weeks. Not sure how others have had issues with as I'm no expert, don't really follow directions all that well and it came up fine. I did spread hay over the area to help keep it moist but not really sure if it's necessary.

Yes, I recommend this product.
