Our Norwesco 3,000 gal. Water Only Tank is manufactured using resins that meet FDA specifications to ensure safe storage of potable water. The dark color limits light penetration, which reduces the growth of water-borne algae. These large water storage tanks are rated at 9.2 lb. per gallon, which means that they are for water storage only and should not be used for chemicals, fertilizers or any other product. The tank is made of strong polyethylene for durability and long-lasting use.

- A: From the manufacture's under Frequently Asked Questions: 22. What type of surface is required for placement of a vertical tank? Inspect the surface to ensure a smooth, level area that will supply full bottom support. A properly constructed concrete pad that is capable of supporting the contents of the tank is the best support and is recommended above 2,000 gallons. Other materials such as very flat blacktop, or contained, packed sand or pea gravel have been used successfully. All surfaces must maintain uniform support through freeze/thaw, erosion and other disturbances. In regards to any “stands or risers” used to elevate the tank, the same principles listed in the above paragraph must be used, full bottom support, not just cross beams for support. We really like this product and you’ll want to tip it towards the opening on top and vacuum out the plastic dunnage on the inside left over from them drilling out the fittings.
