Q&As

Q: will this tank bust if water freezes? if so, can this tank be either buried below grade or set on the ground and have soil mounded up against it to hinder it from freezing?

1 Answer
  • A: This tank is not meant to be buried, we do sell below ground cisterns, which you can bury. There can be some water in the tank, however, if the tank is completely full the expansion could cause problems.

Q: Can these be used for herbicide and sprayers.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, Thanks for reaching out. Here is the information we received back from the vendor- "The tank is suitable for use of products with a maximum weight of 12.5 pounds per gallon. Some chemicals may be incompatible with a polyethylene tank, so the customer should review the MSDS for the product to verify that prior to use"

Good for light-duty use; be alert to your needs!

After 3 weeks of use and short-distance transporting of several ca. 250-gallon loads, the tank continues to seem sturdy. It desperately needs foot brackets substantial enough to bolt it in place (it has none). Straps are inadequate to prevent sliding on a trailer, so I had to build a base frame around the feet and rely on straps only for vertical stability, particularly when the tank is empty. The top opening is plenty large (for filling or for a sump pump intake hose), but the rim easily deforms, making the lid difficult to screw in. And the end drain warns that it isn’t built for holding a heavy valve—a detriment for much except simple draining. All the same, for the (discounted) price, I’m reasonably satisfied. For heavy-duty use or for regular open-burning safety in which greater bottom outflow were desired, I’d look elsewhere.
