The Vertical Liquid Storage Tanks are most frequently used for bulk storage and mobile nursing applications. These liquid storage tanks feature tie-down slots, built-in graduated gal. indicators, an offset fill-opening and a self-vented, slosh-proof lid. The 550 gal. capacity gives you plenty of storage space. Made with strong polyethylene, this tank is ready to handle regular wear and tear.

- A: This tank comes standard from the factory with a 2” female NPT (National Pipe Thread) fitting to connect to. If you want to connect a standard garden hose up to this connection then you will need to start with a 2” male NPT and will need a combination of items to get down to a ¾” GHT.2 years agoHelpful?

Q: Would it damage the tank to paint it black or green to reduce algae? Is there a type of paint that you would recommend for this?

- A: Hi GayleLynn, This is what I received from our vendor- Based on information that distributors and customers have given us, to prepare the tank for painting, wipe it down with a paint thinner to remove any oily residue. The paint that seems to adhere the best is an automotive urethane which is commonly used to paint car bumpers. Keep in mind that over time, as a tank expands and contracts, the paint will usually crack and will need to be reapplied. Norwesco and Tractor Supply accepts no responsibility for any detrimental effect that paint may have on the tank.4 years agoHelpful?

I have had this tank for several years. I love it. I use it for transporting water. I have had water freeze in tank with no problem or damage to tank. (put a shut off at tank pipes will break if they freeze). If you are going to store water outside get the black one to stop algae growth from sun light.

Decent water tank

I use this for hauling potable water. It’s OK- the lid wasn’t screwed down completely and I had to finish the assembly. There was debris inside the tank that was quite difficult to flush out. There are numerous scuffs and scratches on it, but thankfully not deep enough to cause any leaks. The bulkhead on the bottom is great but for the price it should have come with a valve.
