Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product at a reasonable price I have a horse that lost about 200 pounds due to the stress of moving and acclimating to a new climate. I tried much more expensive feeds that were advertised for weight gain, but after a month of feeding recommended amounts I saw no change. I switched to this product and my horse is looking so much better! And at just about half the price of the other feed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Feed I buy three or four bags a month to feed to my 18 year old Arabian gelding. He had bag teeth but the pellets just melt in his mouth so he drops less on the ground.

The instructions say feed at the rate of 1/2 to 1 lb per 100 lbs of body weight ... I do not have scales to weight it. Can you convert the amount from lbs to quarts or pints . My horse is 900 lbs 14 hands and 14 years old.. his activity level is low

Asked by: Chubster01
If your horse has low to moderate activity it should be getting 4.5 lbs of feed a day split into two feedings: 2.25 lbs morning and night. Weighing feed is the most accurate way to measure feed because weight vs volume are two different things. Using a food scale, pour one cup of feed in a plastic bag and weigh it. Continue to add feed by the cup until it weighs one pound, counting the number of cups as you add them. This will give an accurate measurement of cups per pound of this product.

With this feed would I need to supplement minerals and vitamins? Is this a complete diet, aside from hay/pasture? I mean I would not need to add additional corn, oats, sweet feed etc? Thank you so much for your guidance!

Asked by: Keltics
This feed would work best with a vitamin/mineral supplement.
