The Squids Power Tool Tethering Kit allows you to tether one standard 10 lb. power tool, making it easy to use your power tools on the job while preventing dropped objects when working at high heights. The kit contains product solutions for tethering cordless power drills and cordless impact drivers. Connection points for tool lanyards are not always readily available on tools, which can create a hazardous environment while working at heights. Learn how to tether your tools using this power tool tethering kit. Simply open up the hook and loop straps of the power tool trap and place the battery end of the power tool into the power tool trap, with the back of the battery near the D-ring of the trap. Then just tighten the hook-and-loop straps on the power tool trap to secure the power tool inside. Attach the 3100F(x) tool lanyard to complete your power tool tethering system.

  • Power tool tethering kit is approved to the ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 standard
  • Tether one standard 10 lb. cordless power tool
  • Tether kit fits cordless power tool batteries up to 5 in. x 3.5 in. x 3.5 in.
  • Anodized aluminum alloy captive eye manual locking screw gate carabiner
  • Loop for tethering features a treaded loop end that grips the tool when attached
  • Kit includes a Squids 3780 power tool trap, and a Squids 3100F(x) tool lanyard single carabiner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a burly tether system. It feels very secure when attached to the 18v Milwaukee drill. It fits very well even with the larger, extended life battery. I did notice that the heat created from the battery was insulated by the tether, but this is most likely not an issue.

Thanks for your review! The nylon material on the battery trap is lightweight and will breathe somewhat. The belt loop slot will also offer some ventilation, but any heat not vented out shouldn’t cause an issue. On the upside, in the winter, the retained heat will actually improve your battery’s performance in the cold. If you’re looking to try something different, we recommend trying our 3703 tool tail and 3755 tape around the handle instead.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to use when I’m up in a difficult spot and need a drill but don’t have any hands free. I’ve had it for awhile and finally got to use it. It worked great! Held my 18v drill in place. very securely fastened to its battery. The hook and loop straps are very strong and secure. They are attached to an elastic strap w a small carabiner. This was helpful as it helped keep any extra movements to a minimum when I was climbing. I would (and will) definitely use this product again and again. Ive also uses it for carrying other replacement parts to locations I had to use both hands to climb to. Thanks for a great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have gotten to use the tether kit quite a bit the past few weeks while on an install that required a lot of lift work. It is very simple to install and adds the peace of mind that your gear won’t hit the floor 30’ down. I especially like that there is a slot to let your belt clip through so you can still clip your drill for easy access. However, I knock it half a star as it only has a slot for right handed belt clip carry. Please make it ambidextrous for us lefties!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very useful safety tool. I love the tether, very high quality. The "Drill diaper," as I call it, is a great design but be careful not to put a power tool that is too small in it. It seems to fit well on most major power tool names.
