WONDERFUL GIRLS!!

I bought 4 of these sapphire gems at Tractor Supply last year (1 year ago!) and from day 1 they have been magnificent!! As chicks they were hardy, calm, and happy little babies. As soon as they were feathered they went out to the coop. They lay lovely large brown eggs, and only slowed down a little bit over the winter. They are already back to 6+ eggs a week in March.
They are such beautiful hens. Their coloring is so lovely ranging from light grey with occasional dark spots, to my darkest hen with medium to dark grey ombré color. My favorite thing about my girls is their temperament. They are so happy to see anyone, they don’t peck people, and everyone gets along great with each other. There are no fights and no henpecking. They love to be loose in the yard (occasionally.. I’m afraid to lose them to predators) and they always stay very close to the coop and our house. They come running when called and are easy to catch and pickup. Great birds!!!

Love those Sapphire Gem chix

I was delighted to find Sapphire Gems chicks. They are my favorite breed. They were well packaged. However the tracking of their shipment was way off. It appeared they were sitting for two days in some mail depot, when in fact they were shipped on a Monday and arrived on Wednesday. All ten were appeared in good health. One chick was not as active and did not want to drink or eat, and I lost her after the second day. Now all remaining 9 are 3 weeks old and healthy and active. The mail shipping process made me nervous, but the chicks arrived OK.

I ordered 10 chicks from TSC, they arrived quickly. The post office didn’t have my number on the box so they couldn’t call. The chicks had come in a day early.
They were all alive, looking nice and fluffy. I lost 2 the first 48 hours but the rest are thriving. It was a very good experience. I will order from them again.
