Rated 3 out of 5 by from 3 dead Sadly we lost 1 in 12 hours and 2 more the next day, they were very weak upon delivery, my dad did not read the return policy and I'm the one that ordered them for him as he does not have cell phone skills, so on Monday I tried to do it for him and no luck, after 30 minutes waiting on the phone, and trying online. We've raised plenty of chicks and never had them die the first 24 hours:(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy, Healthy Chicks All 10 Chicks appeared healthy upon arrival and were very lively. Quite a few of them seem to be very dominant and we are excited to watch them grow!

Are there any health guarantees on the chicks. What if a few die?

Asked by: Devin207
Chicks are guaranteed as to live delivery and everything possible is anticipated to make sure you receive your shipment in good health. Unfortunately there are times, as you note, and as you can see, some of the babies may not make it. A guarantee is made for live delivery upon receipt of the babies and 48 hours after. If you lose any chicks beyond the extra, you will be refunded for the losses or a reshipment can be made

we are new at raising chickens. Can chickens share the same area as rabbits and turkeys? We just bought a house with an acre and we want to start raising chickens and other small farm animals. Which is the best to start with for desert areas?

Asked by: Mickey Lynn
Ultimately when they are feathered and strong (beyond 12 weeks), they can share the same area as turkeys and rabbits. To start, you should have a safe brooder that keeps temperature between 90-95 degrees consistently for the first 4-5 weeks

Are they sexed? or do you just take your chances?

Asked by: Kgan20

Do you give the  chicks vaccines for diseases and viruses? Can you give them?

Asked by: Cinnamon1
Chicks are not vaccinated but you can defend against cocci by feeding medicated feed. Mareks is another extremely rare disease that chickens may get but is generally found in the environment. If questions regarding any of this please call 641-323-6100

Do the chicks come already vaccinated?

Asked by: N0416
Chicks are not generally vaccinated as some wish to feed medicated feed to prevent cocci. If chicks are vaccinated at day old and then medicated feed used those would cancel out.
