Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only the best for my bantams My bantam chicks and my adults during this time are fed only organic crumbles. I chose Purina.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality feed Great quality and my chickens love it! They’ve had the starter/grower and the layer versions since day 1!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great starter feed. Babies are every bite and grew big and strong. Easy to use, a product we trust.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but pricey Slightly pricey and my birds didn't seem to like it. I purchased it because the store was out of my regular feed I get. The pieces seemed less compact so it ended up being more messy than other feeds. I'm sure the organic is good for them but luckily for me my birds don't mind the cheaper feed that's the same as this just not "organic".

Can I feed this to chicks that have been vaccinated against coccidiosis?

Asked by: Karen1212
Yes, this is non-medicated and may be fed to those chicks that are vaccinated. If you chicks are vaccinated against coccidiosis, a non-medicated starter can be provided.

Corn as a main ingredient makes the chickens too warm in the summer!! Why not make a product without so much corn???

Asked by: Kim789
Thanks for choosing Purina. The product is formulated as a complete ration. While corn is one of the main ingredients, the diet is suitable for poultry any time of year. You are correct, if feeding only corn as a grain, the starch and sugars are very high. But as a whole, the diet is not nearly the starch and sugar content as the grain if fed by itself. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Does this product contain glyphosate?

Asked by: Kathy0218
Thanks for choosing Purina. This is certified as organic and will not be treated with chemicals. Secondly, only GMO crops are able to survive being sprayed with glyphosate. If you were to treat an organic crop with glyphosate, it would no longer be able to claim “organic” status, and it would die. Therefore, Purina would not be able to use that crop in its USDA Organic Certified feed.

can this be used for ducklings as well?

Asked by: Toni420
We do not suggest the Organic starter/grower for ducklings. It is labeled for chicks only. You should use the Flock Raiser or Duck Grower for the younger ducks.

The bag in the photo says "Non-GMO", in the stores it does not. Is there an older version of this product that has GMO?Why the difference? Can I be sure the bag in the store does not have GMO? It is the organic version in the store.

Asked by: jwebs94
The product now contains our Oyster Strong ingredient source, so we have updated the bag. This is still guaranteed to be Organic and will be made with only organically grown grain sources (which are required to be non-GMO). Let us know if you have any additional questions.
