Q: The plug design is awful. Constantly falls out while rolling. Any tips on keeping the plug in? It's basically unusable.

- A: If you are tightening the plug and it is falling out then It must be defective. We have been using this plug in our rollers successfully for 20 years, but there is an occasional defective plug that needs to be replaced. - A: I can't speak to the warranty or the sand. I fill mine up completely with water and it does a good job on my lawn. Always rolls smoothly so side bearings will easily take that. Tip: roll as soon as spring surface gives you traction. It is soft then. I use a v twin cub cadet to pull it.5 years agoHelpful?

- A: This roller's capacity is 71 gallons of water. We do not test our products with sand so we are not sure whether the extra weight will affect the integrity of the roller, but here is the answer to your question. A gallon of water weighs 8.35 lbs. so when it is filled with water it will weigh around 600 lbs. (including the weight of the steel drum). Sand weighs anywhere from 12 to 17 lbs. per gallon depending on the moisture content of the sand. This means that the weight range will be from 850 to 1150 lbs. plus the weight of the steel drum. Keep in mind that the fill hole on the side of the roller is just slightly larger than the diameter of a hose, so filling the roller with sand would take a while.5 years agoHelpful?
