If your lawn experiences moderate foot traffic, suffers from a thatch layer of more than 1/2 in., or if you have heavy clay soil, you may need to aerate! Aerating your yard with Brinly's 40 in. Tow-Behind Spike Aerator perforates the soil over 2 in. deep so seed, fertilizer, and water reach your lawn's root system. The durable, heavy-duty spike aerator in rugged gunmetal-tone finish comes with 11 galvanized steel stars and 132 total tine tips to ensure maximum aeration. The innovative 3D shape, with over 12 razor-sharp tips per star, is tested to be two times stronger than flat tines and resists bending, even in compacted soil. Each 8 in. diameter star also rotates independently and continues revolving during tractor turns ensuring no area goes without aeration. The solid steel tine shaft and heavy-duty nylon spacers provide years of dependability so you get a green, healthy lawn season after season. A fully-enclosed, 14 ga. steel weight tray provides a stable platform for up to 150 lb. of additional weight, maximizing penetration in hard soil. The transport aerator comes standard with never-flat transport wheels -- perfect for crossing driveways, sidewalks, gravel paths, etc. Simply reach behind you and pull the lever to easily engage the wheels instead of the tines.
