I purchased my Ohio Steel Lawn Sweeper 22 about One week ago and it is one of the best lawn purchases that I have made, I have a Lot of Sweetgum Trees in my yard about 12 and every year it is very hard to grind them up, so this year I bought the Ohio Lawn Sweeper and it works very well. You have to make sure you set it up wright. dont let the bag drag the ground and brushes just touching the grass, It got up about 95 percent of the sweetgum balls

composite wheel problems

Good sweeper, BUT composite wheels are not up to the job. Mine is 7 years old and from about the first year on the wheels took on more and more negative camber, first eating through the dust covers and finally getting so bad to be non-functional. Also the tires began slipping on their wheels. Needed new wheels to fix.
Design should change and use aluminum or steel wheels!!!

A little advice

Assembly was not too bad One clevise pin was missing but available at the local hardware. To stretch the bag it must be perfectly fit on or it won’t stretch enough. It does a great job. The dump rope right off got tangled in the brush. The basket gets too heavy to pull to dump. You have to get off and dump it by hand. Then the basket ends up on top of the dump so you have to get back on and use the rope to hold the basket while you drive off. Then you have to tie the rope off to something or it will fall down and tangle in the brush locking it up. I learned this on my first dump. After I learned, it worked great. My suggestion is to engineer a better dump mechanism.

Assembly Issues

The sweeper came in a box partially assembled. But took 6 hours to complete the assembly the wheel and brush that pick up the leaves and move to the collection bin. Were assembled by the company in the wrong direction and the leaves were thrown back at the tractor. When we finally got in touch with the company who only take messages and returns them the next day. The message we got was that it was assembled incorrectly by the company but they included a YouTube on how to fix both sides which was lengthy and complex or we could return it to the store and reorder. Fortunately the next time the sweeper was shipped out it was assembled correctly. No one apologized for this inconvenience The sweeper works but a lot of issues to get to this point.
