Item Information

This professional-grade Ohio Steel Lawn Sweeper features a super capacity 26 cu. ft. heavy-duty collector bag and an extra-wide 50 in. sweeping path allowing you to get your lawn care finished quickly. Patented spiral brush sweeps more efficiently than standard sweepers and puts less stress on gears for long service life. "No-slip" positive lock height adjustment has numbered height settings that can be changed while viewing brush for proper adjustment. Hopper bag empties by pulling rope from the seat of your tractor - just reverse to debris or compost area, pull the rope and you're done! Extra wide 9 in. chute is less likely to clog, especially when sweeping damp grass clippings that can clump together. Reversible hitch allows for efficient level operation with any tractor hitch height - without the use of easy to lose spacer rings!

  • 50 in. sweeping width; 26 cu. ft. capacity hopper 11 in. spiraled polypropylene brushes - an Ohio Steel patented exclusive feature
  • Drawbar can be offset left or right for simultaneous sweeping and mowing
  • Drawbar and bag fold for easy storage
  • Assembles in 20 minutes with 1 tool; 70% less hardware to assemble results in 50% faster assembly time
  • 4.5 to 1 brush to wheel turning ratio
  • 11 in. semi-pneumatic wheels
  • Sealed ball bearings on brush axle
  • Gray and black powder-coat finish
  • Hitch pin included
  • 3 year limited warranty

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Performance, but Quality Could Improve I pull this sweeper behind a Farmall A tractor and it does an amazing job on our 5-acre lawn after mowing with a finish mower. It picks up all of the clippings very efficiently when they are dry and the lawn looks like a golf course afterwards! Assembly was easy, and if you follow the instructions for mounting at the correct hitch height, the bag won't drag on the ground. It's not possible to go in reverse with this sweeper, it jackknifes instantly and severely, so you have to plan for dumping and sweeping in the forward directly only. Some things I don't like are that the wheel hubs and gears are made from plastic and the unit was made in China. While it hopefully will last long enough to be worth the price, the quality level does not compare to my 1939 tractor, which is still running and working perfectly more than 80 years later, yet it could if they made everything from good quality metal. I would buy it again based on the beautiful job it does with sweeping yet would much prefer to be able to pay more for a higher quality made in USA unit that would last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy The brush height setting at 5 working out really well; good job picking up even very dry grass

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great accessory for my John Deere 54 inch Does a great job picking up small sticks, leaves, grass clippings. I have 2 acres with lots of hardwoods. Lots of debris on a regular basis. The unit does a good job as long as you don’t overfill the bag. At which point it gets too heavy the lightweight frame will only take so much! I have run it while cutting grass and simply to clean up the yard prior to Grass Cutting. Purchased the spring, so have not had an opportunity to use it on leaves. Should work fine though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap I don't know who makes a better one, but spend the extra money and buy that instead of this cheap, poorly make junk. First use the wheels were tipped and the gears were not catching to drive sweeper anymore. Been wasting my time with it for 2 or 3 years now even after trying to fix it multiple times.

Are the sweeper wheels steel

Asked by: Ja57m
The wheels are made of fiberglass reinforced nylon and have been designed for this purpose in mind. These wheels have been proven to be durable and effective in hundreds of thousands of sweepers produced by Ohio Steel over that last 15 years.

Once the hopper is full of grass, I will have to drive it 300 yards to the compost site. I understand that the brush rotation mechanism can not be stopped in forward gear. But, can the height be adjusted so the brushes do NOT collect any more grass ?

Asked by: Gator Al
Yes the brush height can be adjusted higher than the grass so it will not collect grass.

My left wheel seems to be somewhat locked, it will turn but takes quite a bit of force. Brush spins with little effort. Does the tire ever rub dust guard? I’m thinking about replacing tire and dust guard.

Can you sweep leaves on a paved driveway

Asked by: mr eddie
Yes you can sweep a paved driveway. Keep in mind that sweeping on pavement will wear down the brushes faster than using it only on a lawn, but the brushes are replaceable from Ohio Steel Customer Service.

What is the difference between model 5026V2 and a 50SWP26?

Asked by: Allis C mower
The main difference is that the V2 model now allows for use in an offset position. This allows you to sweep and mow at the same time. Also, the V2 model's height adjusts from the side allowing you to view the brush while changing it's height.
