Item Information

This professional-grade Ohio Steel Lawn Sweeper features a super capacity 26 cu. ft. heavy-duty collector bag and an extra-wide 50 in. sweeping path allowing you to get your lawn care finished quickly. Patented spiral brush sweeps more efficiently than standard sweepers and puts less stress on gears for long service life. "No-slip" positive lock height adjustment has numbered height settings that can be changed while viewing brush for proper adjustment. Hopper bag empties by pulling rope from the seat of your tractor - just reverse to debris or compost area, pull the rope and you're done! Extra wide 9 in. chute is less likely to clog, especially when sweeping damp grass clippings that can clump together. Reversible hitch allows for efficient level operation with any tractor hitch height - without the use of easy to lose spacer rings!

  • 50 in. sweeping width; 26 cu. ft. capacity hopper 11 in. spiraled polypropylene brushes - an Ohio Steel patented exclusive feature
  • Drawbar can be offset left or right for simultaneous sweeping and mowing
  • Drawbar and bag fold for easy storage
  • Assembles in 20 minutes with 1 tool; 70% less hardware to assemble results in 50% faster assembly time

  • Gray and black powder-coat finish

Ohio Steel 50 in. Lawn Sweeper, 26 cu. ft., 5026V2 is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 201.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ohio Steel 50 in lawn sweeper. I have over a two acre yard. Works well with my zero turn. Catches a lot of grass and is easy to dump.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Purchase 50SWP26 model instead I bought the 5026V2 model from TSC about 2 weeks ago. I assembled, made a couple adjustments to the hitch plate level and the brush height, and started sweeping. I noticed the bag seemed to drag a little more than I expected after collecting some grass. The front of the bag bottom did not connect to the sweeper, it just rested flush against the rear frame. I tried adjusting brush height and hitch height without success in getting the bag completely off the ground. I made it back and forth across my yard 1 1/2 times before the hitch pulled out of one of the hitch receiver tubes on the side of the sweeper casing. When I put it back in, I noticed the spring lock pins didn't seem to stick real far out of the holes to engage the outer tube. Shortly after I started again, it pulled out again. I then noticed it had slightly bent the opposite hitch tube when it pulled out. So, I dragged the 1/4 full bag of grass clear across my yard by hand to empty it thinking maybe it just got too full. After hooking the empty bag back up it again shortly after came apart. So I took it back to TSC and they graciously accepted it and refunded my money. Based on all of the good Ohio Steel reviews and feeling the sweeper was good quality other than the couple design enhancements I felt it could use, I decided to try the other version available (model 50SWP26). It had good reviews and I later found reviews of the 5026V2 model that reported the same issues I had. 50SWP26 model has different connecting pins, hitch adjustment, bag support and brush height adjustment, and swept grass clippings from my entire 2 acre yard without issue. I'm very happy with it. A couple simple corrections to the 5026V2 model (which may be what the 50SWP26 model is) and I expect it would perform the same, but would not recommend it as-is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy Construction We picked this up before the spring clean up and worked great to pick up after thatching! Picked up way more than would have just raking and saved time! The dumping feature was nice to have and makes cleaning out easy!

My left wheel seems to be somewhat locked, it will turn but takes quite a bit of force. Brush spins with little effort. Does the tire ever rub dust guard? I’m thinking about replacing tire and dust guard.

Can you sweep leaves on a paved driveway

Asked by: mr eddie
Yes you can sweep a paved driveway. Keep in mind that sweeping on pavement will wear down the brushes faster than using it only on a lawn, but the brushes are replaceable from Ohio Steel Customer Service.

Can I drive over paved surfaces without damaging the fabric on the hopper bag? This has been a consistent problem with these units because at some point you must cross a paved surface, then the hopper bag needs to be replaced for hundreds of dollars.

Asked by: Alan1965
When properly adjusted at the hitch the hopper bag will not touch the ground (assuming your lawn tractor hitch height is 7-12" from the ground). If a side walk or other paved/concrete surface is at a higher level than the ground then contact may be unavoidable when crossing.

Will the sweeper pick up black walnuts?

Asked by: Lucy99
This sweeper is not designed to pick up nuts of this size and weight. Typically black walnuts will not be collected unless they are completely dried out and the hull has separated from the nut, making it lighter and thus easier to collect. Most people desire to pick up these nuts before rotting occurs, however, so lawn sweepers would not be the preferred method of collection for this material.

Does this product have the ability to go to a "neutral" position when you don't want the brushes to spin when traveling along a surface that doesn't require sweeping?

Asked by: Ray70
No. Neutral (not spinning) can only be achieved when not moving or in reverse.
