Adequate but not Fantastic

For $500, I expected this to collect fall leaves much better than it does. Unless the leaves are bone dry it won’t pick them all up, even with the sweeper set at the lowest setting, It collects them but it also leaves quite a few. It takes several passes to get most of them. The bagger isn’t dumpable from the seat if it has a heavy load. You need to get off the tractor and manually lift the bag to dump. Backing the sweeper with a zero turn mower takes some practice to avoid jack knifing it. If you overfill it before dumping, it spills out all over the lawn as you drive to the dump area. I looked at a lot of sweepers before buying this one. Many are cheaply made but this one is well made, solid and pretty durable. Should last a long time. My take is that all sweepers in general are easier than raking but they are not a perfect solution.

This is my second Ohio Steel lawn sweeper. Had my first one for 12 years. My husband ran into it with our tractor. I can’t live on 3 acre lot without it. They are fantastic. Easy to pull with a lawn tractor and very easy to back up and dump. My lawn tractor died on me this year so I will be pulling with either my zero turn lawnmower or my golf cart. I highly recommend the Ohio Steel lawn sweeper. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 6. My first one was 12 years old and still going strong.
