Great tank, but application issues.

So, TSC sells the tank itself, which is a great product. Just be careful plumbing it with plenty of teflon tape and tightening connections with caution to prevent leaks. The top vent does allow bugs in, so if using for drinking water as I am, some sort of screen will need retrofitted over top. Also, if using well water, something like a little bleach will need added to prevent algae or other wildlife from growing in tank. Some professional advice on this would be great!!! A real pain is strapping it down because TSC does not carry the hoops (part# 60478) and to order them online is crazy, the shipping costs more than the hoops. TSC really needs to stock these hoops.

Catostophic Failure

Bought one of the 325 gal. Poly tanks w/ legs to transport water in for hydrating bentonite well plugs. The first time we filled the tank with non-pressurized deionized water, the end of the tank blew out.

Good for light-duty use; be alert to your needs!

After 3 weeks of use and short-distance transporting of several ca. 250-gallon loads, the tank continues to seem sturdy. It desperately needs foot brackets substantial enough to bolt it in place (it has none). Straps are inadequate to prevent sliding on a trailer, so I had to build a base frame around the feet and rely on straps only for vertical stability, particularly when the tank is empty. The top opening is plenty large (for filling or for a sump pump intake hose), but the rim easily deforms, making the lid difficult to screw in. And the end drain warns that it isn’t built for holding a heavy valve—a detriment for much except simple draining. All the same, for the (discounted) price, I’m reasonably satisfied. For heavy-duty use or for regular open-burning safety in which greater bottom outflow were desired, I’d look elsewhere.
