Lag between trigger pull and tool activation

There’s a significant delay between when the trigger is pulled and when the blades start cutting. Frankly the delay felt dangerous. Not practical when working. I returned the tool.

It is normal for the Greenworks 60V 26" hedge trimmer to have a slight delay about a half-second between pulling the trigger and the blades engaging. This is not a malfunction but a characteristic of the brushless motor. For safety, the trimmer uses a two-step starting system: 1. You must hold down the front handle safety switch and pull the rear trigger at the same time to start the blades. 2. Releasing either the trigger or the front handle will stop the blades. If you experience a delay that is longer than a fraction of a second, or if the tool is not activating we recommend contacting our customer support team for assistance with properly submitting a warranty claim.
