Cold Steel has never been afraid to break with convention. That's why, when everyone else in the industry made the smallest, flimsiest, dainty little knives that they could, Cold Steel released a series of blades that could only be described as one thing - pocket swords! The Cold Steel Espada was inspired by the classical Navaja knives of Spain but was utterly modern in both appearance and materials. These mega-folders took the market by storm! A design collaboration between custom knifemaker Andrew Demko and Lynn C. Thompson, the Espadas are available in two sizes to suit both the bold and the boldest of individuals! Despite their imposing size, they are expertly designed to fit comfortably and discreetly in your pocket. You'll soon forget that you are carrying such a large and impressive blade. Equipped with the patented Demko Thumb Plate, the Large and Extra Large Espadas can be snagged on your pocket, opening the knife as you draw it - and opening in the blink of an eye! The Espada's beautiful blades are made from Japanese AUS-10A stainless steel. Each Espada is equipped with the patented Tri-Ad locking mechanism, proven to have amazing shock resistance and strength. In their own notoriously brutal product testing, the XL Espada was not only capable of holding 600lbs of free hanging weight, but they even used it to support a hanging engine block!

  • 7.5" Clip Point AUS10A Steel Blade
  • 16.75" Overall Length
  • 9.25" G10 Handle
  • Belt Clip
  • Weighs 14.8 Oz.

An excellent knife for outdoor activities and for a collection, large, sharp and durable. I already have two of these knives in different colors.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It’s larger in person

Worth it!!! And then some Been looking at the XL Espada for over a decade! I have had the medium Espada for 13 years now, for those who remember, it’s the 6160 aluminum handle one. That knife is truly tiny compared to this one haha! I love the grey g10 and how it looks with the black blade. Stoked to have this knife! Too bad I waited so long to buy one. Don’t be like me…if you’re wanting one then buy one, wish I would have all those years ago!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Very Specific Tool and Powerful Weapon

Amazing nice, arrived very sharp, exactly what I anticipated given the descriptions on this website and others; very durable, quality steel, well balanced etc.... it is a well made folding knife. This knife just happens to be very large, which is one reason i bought it. I will say, i am overall very impressed and satisfied, i would consider buying other unique folders from cold steel, should they ever be released. I do find the knife difficult to deploy and it requires a great deal of strength to close once more with just your thumb. It is a two handed closer, for certain. With my work gloves on (i use this bad boy like a spade in the garden) its much easier to retract and deploy. Perhaps larger hands are required for a larger knife? I am not certain, but this is my only knock to it being an EDC. I do enjoy a quick deploy and recovery on something i use everyday. This knife comes across as a weapon or a very specific tool in your kit. I have found a use for it, and I adore using it.

Yes, I recommend this product.
