Fantastic fence tester. Can be seen in bright daylight and no ground cord to mess with!

Easy to use but very inaccurate compared with our other testers. This device reads between 2000 and 6000 at different points on our fence, where another device shows between 5200 and 5400.

I like this tester because you can test without ground. You are testing voltage on the fence so you know all is ok on the fence. You still need good ground to have fence effective.

The package was deliverd quickly however there wasn't any instructions to explain the dificult battery compartment. Contacts go at the bottum and the circuit board holds the other end of bat.after it is slid down in place then cover can be instaled. The picture on the package shows to test looks like using the side of tester. Those notches on each side are great to hold on to it especialy with sweaty hands. The test area for the hot wire is the top left that sticks out, it has a red triangle with litening bolt on it. To test put test area on wire then push and hold test button for a few seconds or untill the voltage led's light up. The tester works well so far, i have not had it long. It definately salves the problem of finding a good ground for the probe on that type of tester, especialy in florida during the dry seasons. We have found adding barbed wire for a ground wire helps also going to add ground rods tied to barbed wire. Holding cattle on an old orange grove in florida. I would recomend this product so far.
