A: Hello. Thank you for your question. The gaps you're seeing in the insulation of your 500-552 200' insulated cable are not a defect. The product is manufactured with these intentional gaps.

Q: Is this wìre rated for direct bury without using conduit?

A: Thank you very much for contacting us. This wire (model 500-552) is suitable for both above ground and below ground use, but please note that it is not double insulated. While the outer layer is made of non-conductive high-density polyethylene, we do not recommend burying it without conduit in areas with high moisture or where extra protection is needed, especially if there’s a risk of abrasion or damage. For safety and durability, using conduit is highly advised in such conditions. It would be our pleasure to assist you with any further questions.

A: Insulated wire is used in fencing, particularly in electric fencing systems, to safely carry the electrical current between different parts of the system without losing energy through grounding or unintended contact, This connection would be for grounding, lead line and any underground set up you have. Save your money, not worth it

I should have paid attention to the reviews. The spool had sections of the insulation missing every few feet so I had to wrap those with electrical tape. This morning with a light dew it was arcing to the ground in multiple places without any damage to the insulation. Very disappointed

No, I do not recommend this product.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the insulated cable. Missing insulation and arcing are not expected. The cable should provide continuous insulation along its length and should not arc to the ground when installed correctly and free from defects. We recommend discontinuing use of the affected sections and inspecting the entire spool for additional areas with damaged or missing insulation. Please contact us directly so we can review the issue further and determine the best way to assist with a resolution. We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to make this right.

Junk

Bought this in April. When first using it in October the roll had at least 20 places where the insulation had broken open, showing an inch of the steel wire inside. Absolute crap!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Horrible quality. Dont’ buy

I used it to be a jumper under my fences for my electric high tensile wire fence. After I buried it I noticed loss V drop etc. While troubleshooting I heard clicking coming from where I hurried the wire. Dug it up and yup that was the culprit. I can’t see any exposed wire but it grounds out as soon as I put it back to the soil. Near the end of the roll was also multiple visible breaks in the sheeting so I was unable to use that last bit or wire…. What a waste of money…

No, I do not recommend this product.
