Rated 1 out of 5 by from Something has changed ... or something is wrong We've been feeding our dog TOTW Bison & Venison for three years. She's always loved it until tonight. We free feed her, so her bowl is always kept full. Her bowl is washed regularly. We opened a new 28 lb bag that has a best sell date of 09-18-20. She refuses to eat it. She just stands at her bowl, nudging it and whining. We bought a second bag at the same time we bought the first one. It has a best sale date of 10-18-20. Same thing. Whines and won't eat. So we went to the corner store and bought a small bag of a different kind of food. She ate it right away. Something is very wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TotW High Prairie (Two Thumbs Up) Quality food at a reasonable price. I shop for three different dogs (all different breeds) and it's hard to find something that works for all of their taste buds as well as keeping their skin & coat healthy and shiny. This food I find does it all ... and is still priced at a reasonable rate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Completely Different from the same Puppy formula! I have fed TotW on and off for several years. I recently adopted a German Shepherd from the shelter who had extreme itching and ear infections. We tried grain free food after grain free food. It was so bad that I had to cook for her for several months to allow her body to heal. I finally found a food she could eat, which was Taste of the Wild High Prairie Puppy food. It had pretty limited ingredients, and Hannah loved it. Best of all, she didn't chew sores all over herself or have the ear infections come back. I accidentally ordered the adult version of the High Prairie formula, but thought it would be ok, because it should be pretty much the same, right? WRONG! Within just a day of eating this formula, she was back to extreme itching, ears became smelly and she kept shaking her head. She also really didn't want to eat much of it at all. (Thankfully, I have another dog who is not sensitive and the food wasn't wasted... but even our other dog did not like this formula, as I had to mix things into it to get her to eat it, and she is usually not picky.) I compared the ingredients, and came to find out that the adult High Prairie includes: chicken, chicken fat, eggs, and beef, which the puppy formula does not include. I am fairly certain my girl is allergic to beef, but it could be the eggs in it as well. I just don't know. So if you have a highly, highly sensitive dog who does well on one formula, don't make the mistake I did! Even though the formulas, in my opinion, should have the same ingredients, just in different amounts for puppies vs adults, don't assume they will! Always double check ingredients! I do recommend totw, especially the high prairie puppy formula, and if your dogs can handle any type of protein source, these foods are pretty good. I like that they have not had any recalls.

The first ingredient listed is buffalo. Where does it come from? There aren’t any buffalo in the U.S.

Asked by: Puzzled
Hello, because the Taste of the Wild brand now has a significant presence in international markets and buffalo is a more recognized name than bison, the decision was made to list buffalo as the primary protein ingredient name. We left bison in the product name because it’s a recognized part of the brand and a unique source of protein that we are proud to offer our customers.
