Won't stay stuck to my cardboard boxes

I bought some moving boxes and this tape to pack up some of my household stuff. The tape seems sticky but then just pops off the the boxes especially when you move them. If I had bought cheap tape, I'd expect this but I thought I was buying a quality product from a good name brand. I would have thought maybe it just came from a bad batch or something but I see similar reviews going back years. I guess I'll buy one of their competitor's products from now on.

packing tape

I have used this tape many times for mailing packages and many times have had the frustration of the end sticking to the roll. When trying to find the end this time it rendered the roll useless. I threw it away.
There has to be a better way.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This is the worst tape I have ever used. I recently moved and over 80% of my boxed popped open because this tape DOES NOT STICK.
