Feeding Instructions:
Purina 30% Protein Hi-Energy Tub is designed to be self-fed to beef cattle consuming fair or better quality forage. Consumption of this supplement will vary depending upon the condition of the animals, quality and quantity of forages being fed, and seasonal weather conditions. Cattle typically will consume from 0.5 to 1.5 pounds per head per day.
1) Feed at the rate of one block for every 5 to 10 head with a (min.) of 2 blocks in each pasture to assure that smaller, more timid cows get their share.
2) Place tubs in dry areas where cattle congregate, loaf, feed and water. Increase or decrease blocks available to increase or decrease consumption of the supplement.
3) As with any "cooked-molasses" product, there will be times when forage quality, cow condition, or weather stress will make it necessary to provide additional energy and protein supplementation to meet cow needs in to that provided by Purina 30% Protein Hi-Energy Tub. In these instances, contact your local Purina representative for specific feeding recommendations.
Introductory Period: During the first week of use, place the blocks approximately 50-75 feet from the loafing and/or watering areas. As cattle become acclimated to the presence of the blocks, some repositioning may be necessary. Move the blocks closer to increase consumption, further away to decrease consumption. DO NOT PROVIDE STARVED ANIMALS FREE ACCESS TO THIS SUPPLEMENT.
Important: consumption figures stated here are approximate. Clean, fresh water and a high quality, phosphorus containing mineral (Purina Wind and Rain) and salt should be available at all times.
Caution: For ruminants only. This product contains added copper and should NOT BE FED TO SHEEP or related species that have a low tolerance to supplemental copper. This feed should be used only in accordance with directions furnished on the label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've fed Been using these the last couple of years. My cattle definitely prefer these over other brands that I've tried and I never have any waste. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap Deer Supplement Bought a couple for the rough summer months when the deer get skinny here in South Texas. Was just curious to see how they liked them. It took them a month to lick them clean. Careful though pigs found the other tub and ate it until it was gone. Even had some tusk marks on the side.

can this product be fed to deer without harming them?

Asked by: wcs10
Thanks for choosing Purina. This product is formulated specifically for cattle and not intended to be fed to wildlife. We do have products that we have formulated for deer and that includes the AntlerMax deer block which contains 18% protein. Or, we have many other options in our line up. Here is the webpage for more details:

Does this product have fly control in it?

Asked by: Kristin73
Thanks for choosing Purina. This particular tub does not include Altosid the IGR. You may ask to see if TSC can special order the medicated option. If not, then you will need to go to an independent authorized Purina dealer. The Altosid may be abbreviated ALT on the labeling.
