Perfect for a 1st time chicken owner

Love this coop! Took about 4 hours with 2 people to put together. Directions were easy to follow. It's exactly what I was looking for with not building my own coop and spending a fortune. I have 10 chickens and so far 3 have moved in. Very roomy with three perch bars, 3 nesting boxes and the inside is very spacious. Others have mentioned the steep of the ramp, but my chickens have had no problem with it. I haven't had to make any additional changes to the security part whether adding latches or extra wiring. I'm in a forest setting and I've have no problem with the latches that it came with. Giving this 5 stars with my expectations!

It technically does the job it’s intended for, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Especially not if it is your chickens first coop after the brooder.
The sliding door for the chickens to enter and exit the coop is my biggest qualm. It is pretty much useless as many wood on wood tracks are (especially since this is an outdoor coop so the door swells and warps with the elements). The metal handle is no help in opening or closing this sliding door so every morning I have to crouch down into my coop and try to muscle the sliding door open, or closed, and it is literally the biggest pain in the world. And I’m only 5’2”. I can’t imagine what a pain this would be for someone taller.
Also, if this is your chickens first coop after the brooder, you have to teach them to use the ramp to go from the run. This means every evening I have to crouch down in the run and pick up nine chickens and set them on the ramp in hopes they will one day do it on their own. But where the issue comes in, is if the chickens don’t want to be picked up, they can just hide under the coop. I can’t get them under there unless I get down on my elbows and knees and I’m not doing that in a chicken run. So I just have to shake my bag of mealworms at them until they feel like obliging.
Also, one of the doors to the run is completely useless to me as it was not manufactured correctly (see picture). That’s a huge bummer for this much money.
I took a risk on this coop because there were no reviews to go off of. So Now I’m leaving a review so you can properly decide for yourself if these are cons you want to live with everyday.
Pro- It’s cute…but I rather it be more functional.

I don’t think this coop is worth the price. It’s heavy, but surprisingly fragile. Right out of the box, there was already a large section of paint missing, which is unacceptable for a new product. As I unpacked it, even more paint chipped off easily, which makes me question its overall durability.
On top of that, the hardware has been frustrating to work with. The pre-drilled holes don’t line up with the brackets, making assembly much harder than it should be. Some pieces simply don’t fit together properly without forcing them.
Overall, I would not recommend this coop, especially at its MSRP. The quality just doesn’t match the price.

This coop is the only coop you should consider. Easy to build, sturdy and withstood a very cold WI winter keeping the chickens warm and happy. It does not comfortably suit 12 chickens. 9 max unless you wanna clean it out every day.

After doing extensive research on either building or buying our chicken coop, we decided to go with the Chicken Villa coop as we wanted 4-6 birds. We ordered it online with no issues. Picked it up and installed it a few days later. We didn’t have any damaged parts and installation was fairly simple, I think it took about 4-5 hours between me and my boyfriend. We didn't follow the instructions for some of the assembly and did have to make a pit stop at the hardware store because we did not have the right drill bit to install the screws. I ended up repainting it because I could tell some parts were not fully coated in paint, but kept the same color because I actually loved it. We put pavers down so the wood is not sitting directly on the dirt. Overall, I am super happy and excited to add chickens to it in a few weeks. Will probably be adding an extension to the run if we end up getting around 6 full size birds just because I don’t feel it would be adequate for that amount of chickens to stay in consistently.

Decent for a prefab coop! Super cute

Not the best, not the worst. We are first time chicken owners and bought this prefab coop. It’s super cute, but a few things could be addressed for functionality while cleaning it out. The wood isn’t the strongest material, so definitely need a sealant on it for our Florida weather. The roosting bars aren’t very wide to support the chickens feet, so we’ll replace those. All in all, it’s a great starter coop to hold about 4-6 chickens. Anymore than that and they’d be too crowded. Great ventilation and easy access to the nesting boxes and inside the coop! We’ll likely attach a larger walk in run to this instead of the one it comes with for ease of cleaning and access. All in all, it was a great purchase for us! My chickens seem to like it.
