Q: Hello, thinking of getting this tree for mothers day, and another next month for fathers day, my question is about pollination, do i have to make sure the 2nd tree have any specifications as far as gender? I dont mean to sound ridiculous…

Q: So I purchased and planted two of the Red Delicius apple trees on my land. The label says the tree will pollinate with other varieties or another red delicius tree planted near by to bear fruit. Now I’m reading the same tree won’t bear fruit. Will it??

Q: I bought a 12 apple trees and 4 different varieties. At the tractor supply. Most people buy implausibly, like I did, thinking they can plant an apple orchard. I have gala, Cortland, honey crisp and red delicious. Are they all  on semi dwarf rootstock???

Q: What root stock are these grown on? Trying to verify before removing 44 tress that have been planted for 1.5 years. Have a variety of your trees. Santa  Rosa plum, gala apple, cortland apple, red delicious apple, Elberta peach, keifer pear, Bartlett pear.

  • A: These apples were grown on either a 111 or a 106 rootstock which are both semi dwarf.

Q: Can I plant just one tree? Does it require 2 trees for it to fruit?

  • A: Red Delicious do not pollinate by themselves but are cross pollinated, mostly with Golden Delicious and Gala. ... apart for semi dwarf Red Delicious trees and 10 feet (3 m.) apart for dwarf varieties. Red delicious apple trees are sun loving and need a minimum six hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight each day.

They have only been in the ground a couple weeks but are doing great so far. They were also in great shape when I bought them, full of leaves and damp soil. This was a late summer purchase for fall planting.
