I have to say Tractor Supply Co. has once again saved the day! As some of you know, the early months of 2019 in the Midwest have been dangerously COLD! The coldest I have ever experienced in 40yrs! Since our new home does not have a fireplace, we needed an alternative heat source and the Mr. Big Buddy with the 12f.t hose worked perfect! I advise getting this 12ft hose with the quick release if you choose to go the 20 gallon propane route. After extensive research I have found it to be the safest and easiest solution to a secondary heat source . The 12ft. hose put me at east being able to keep the heater 5 feet away from the propane tank at all times. It also gave me the ability well keep the tank outside and the heater inside. These heaters are safe for indoor use and many have tested them using a CO2 detector in small spaces, check YouTube for examples. Just a reminder for your home owners insurance policy - One is supposed to keep the tank outdoors! The hose worked very well at 5 degrees and below temps. Note that the original Mr. Buddy smaller model has no quick release hose adapter available. You have to purchase a separate hose with a different adapter that screws on. See your manual for the exact model number your Mr. Buddy uses, this can become confusing. I also purchased the 20 gallon adapter that lets you refill the small bottles using a big tank. This part is also available at Tractor Supply. This 12ft. hose was the only way I could truly get the Mr. Big Buddy to perform at its best. **Two important things I want to pass on.** Get this 12ft. with the regulator at all costs if you have a Mr. Big Buddy. The 5ft. 'screw on' hose without the regulator, let the propane come flow too fast and kept blowing out the pilot light when you turned the heater past the low setting. The regulator was a must!! Great product sold by a great company, I simply cannot thank Tractor Supply enough for having so many heaters and parts in stock. I purchased a Mr. Buddy and Mr. Big Buddy, with 2 new propane 20 gallon tanks, 4 small tanks and could not be happier!

This is the "new" hose (internal threads that doesn't use the large connection with the external course threads) with the plastic nut to tighten the connection at the tank. Plastic nut isn't easy to get onto the brass fitting, so it is very hard to get tightened sufficiently to engage the safety device inside the tank. As a result, the tank will not provide sufficient gas flow to keep the heater lit. We bought two (2) hoses, and then found out that one of them wouldn't work even when we used a Crescent wrench (older way, and only way to tighten since the plastic nut doesn't work). Very disappointed - not in Tractor Supply, but in the quality of the gas hose and overall function. Why can't you find the hose with the large plastic, external, course thread connector? You could use your hands and get a good fit up with any tank. Wasn't that why they started using the large, external threads years ago? Wasn't that supposed to be easier and safer? Mr. Heater needs to get their act together and think "quality."
