Q: Due to contamination with refilled tanks, Can I use a filter with this product

- A: The one I bought at tractor supply won’t work because the hose fitting is a push pull fitting and the filter has threads on both ends. I have used mine for a couple of years now using the gas grill tank and haven’t had any problems yet.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: I am purchasing a big buddy and F271803 hose to connect to a 20lb propane tank. Does the fan run on batteries or do I need to purchase a power cord separately? Does the heater work without the fan on?

- A: Thank you for the inquiry. The fan will run on either 4-D cell batteries, or the power adapter sold separately. The Big Buddy heater will work without the fan, the fan is just an accessory that will help circulate the air in the room a little faster. Have a great day!5 years agoHelpful?

Q: Is a filter required if this regulated adapter is used? Some people say a filter is required but I can not find one that goes inline with the QD.

Q: What is the part number for the male end to match the quick connect fitting. I have this hose for my Mr Heater Big Buddy heater and would like to use this with my Mr Heater BaseCamp stove.

- A: Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have a separate part for the male end of the quick connect fitting. We would recommend one of the hoses that have a 1 pound bottle fitting to connect to your Mr. Heater BaseCamp stove. That would be the F273701, F273702, or F273704. Works perfectly, and clicks right in. Like others have said, the hose is long, which is great for putting the tank somewhere out of the way, but it takes a little while for the gas to reach the pilot the first time. But thats not a big deal, maybe 60 to 70 seconds of holding the pilot down and you are good. For extended use of the big buddy this is the best. Just hook up a 20lb tank and forget about it.
