Works Great, but MM needs to update instructions

I purchased this item from TS because it was exactly what I needed and cheaper than anywhere else. The MM product was installed a few weeks ago and is working well, but there were some issues with installation, most of which was the fact MM has OLD instructions on almost all of their products. For example, I also purchased a wireless system so I could open/monitor my gate from my smart phone, along with a gate lock to keep my gate secured and 10 watt solar panel. The instructions for the gate lock included a control board and instructions that were printed pre-2000 per MM support staff. So basically you have to throw the instructions away and either search online or call MM. The instructions on how to wire the solar panel to your control board were OUTDATED and did not even include the instructions for the MM371W, and they were purchased as a 'kit'. I made several phone calls to MM and their customer support was excellent and very little wait time. The only issue I have with the company, (not the product) is that whenever I called, they already seemed to know the issue because they had been dealing with it for a while. For me, I would appreciate a company that CORRECTS the issue, such as printing NEW/MODERN instructions for their products. Otherwise, the gate opener (MM371W) works great. The gate lock works great and the wireless/smart access works great also.

Not sure about this model- only works if near gate

I bought this a little over a month ago and have had issues with it since the day I installed it. The remotes or the receiver have a very short range and if your in the car, it will only work within about 20 feet of the gate. I called MightyMule and this is apparently a known issue with them, which they claim they can fix by sending a new controller board. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, etc... the board has been back ordered for over 3 weeks and it’s now past the return window for Tractor Supply... I’ve spent a considerable amount on additional mounting hardware for my wood posts and the marine 12v battery. I can’t return that stuff. So... I am hoping MightyMule comes through and resolved the issue, otherwise I’m probably stuck with this weak performing gate opener- beware! I hope to be able to update rating and this review with good news when I get the new board and install it.

do your reseach on the cost of the accessories

Gate opener works. Be prepared to get nickel and dime on the other stuff you will have to buy.
Battery required to operate, however let’s not include a battery box to go behind the control box. Why not include the box with the kit? This box cost $100. I luckily found a cheaper one to place on the post, it takes up a little bit more room though.
Another issue is the control box only has 2 penetrating sealing nuts installed. With all the accessories you may want to buy you will need more than 2. Why not just have them installed at the factory so you do not have to drill them? Now I am looking for sealing nuts that will fit the box. Also, when the drill finally went through, I almost took out the control box circuit board.
Another item that could have been in the box was having a pin lock for the arm? Yet another expense.
Needless to say, it may have been the cheapest, but now I know why.
When this thing breaks, hopefully at least 10 years from now, I do not know if I would buy another one

5 months old and the circuit board is bad. Getting Mighty Mule to replace it has been quite lengthy and not an easy process at all.
We have ran Mighty Mule for years and the last two systems we've purchased have been nothing but issues.
