The Lakin Milling Lakin Lite Fortified Pellet Horse Feed is ideal for active horses of all age groups. Lakin Lite is our maintenance style horse feed designed for less active horses, ponies, and mules. The pellets contain a high-quality blend of alfalfa, bermuda, and mineral. Lakin Lite Alfalfa Bermuda Horse Pellets are formulated to be fed to horses of all ages. Feed at a rate of 1.5% to 2% of body weight per horse, per day depending on body condition and work intensity. For example: a 1000 Lb. horse = 20 Lbs. of Lakin Lite per day. Multiple feedings throughout the day are recommended, divided into two equal portions. We recommend soaking the pellets in a container of water for horses with sensitive teeth or difficulty chewing. All horses should always have free choice water.
Gradually replace existing hay with Lakin product over a 7 day period.
