I looked at all the utility trailers from various trailer retailers. Most of the angle iron style trailers looked poorly made, bad welds, bad paint, etc. The Karavan was well made with round and square tube construction, powder coated frame and nice hardware. The flip down sides was not something I was looking for, but a nice feature and works well. The only shortcoming is the license plate bracket, cheap plastic. I realized it was broke before I left the store as I tried putting on a plate. After towing the trailer home, about 15 miles, I took a look under the trailer and was shocked to find a 4x4x6 foot timber resting on top of the springs spanning the width of the trailer. Not attached, just rattleing between the frame and spring. Clearly this was for shipping purposes and is intended to be removed before use. Can't believe this didn't fall out on the way home leaving a 4x4 in the road. TSC should make sure these are removed before selling them.

Wheel flew off brand new trailer at highway speed

I purchased a brand new Karavan Trailer 5.5x9 Pro from Tractor Supply three weeks ago and brought it home. On Saturday, I hooked the trailer up excited to pick up our new motorcycle. 10 minutes into the trip I hear a scraping sound and look to see the trailer's tire bouncing down the road ahead of me. There was nowhere to pullover and it was a dangerous situation. I was able to collect and place the wheel on temporarily while we limped to a shoulder as cars were whizzing by us at 50 mph. I was praying we were not going to be hit. The police came and the trailer was towed. I had yet to put a single pound of weight on the trailer. It appears the bearing failed and ripped off the components retaining the wheel onto the axle. How does a brand new trailer fail in this manner? Called Tractor Supply and they directed me to Karavan Trailers who had me fill out an online claim form. Hopefully they do the right thing. I bought a new trailer to avoid failures like this one in this instance. Was a very scary situation.

Fantastic quality trailer. We love that it has the powder coating to keep it from scratches. The sides fold down too in case you need a little more room. The ramp could use a couple more sturdy bars to walk up- it feels like the ramp sinks a bit if you’re not standing on the bars while walking up- but it is welded, so should be fine. Love it overall.

The Karavan 5.5’ x 9’ trailer is an outstanding value for the price. Based on its features, build quality, and overall fit and finish, I don’t think there’s a better trailer in this price range.
The materials and welds are top-notch, and the treated wood bed is well done. The fold-down sides and front are incredibly useful and add a level of versatility that many competing trailers don’t offer. The ramp/gate is sturdy and well built, making loading and unloading easy.
The aluminum wheels are a nice touch and really enhance the trailer’s appearance. My only reservation is the Trailer King tires. While they seem fine so far, I’m not a big fan of the brand, so time will tell how well they hold up.
The only other area I’d like to see improved is the tongue jack. The factory jack is functional but pretty basic. A higher-quality jack, or better yet, a folding swivel jack, would be a worthwhile upgrade.
Overall, I’m extremely impressed with this trailer and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a durable, feature-packed utility trailer at a very competitive price.
