Q: Will the mesh ramp hold strong enough and able to hold up when a 42" zero turn mower is loaded onto and off without bending the mesh ramp?

1 Answer
  • A: If your 42" zero turn mower's wheels do not line up with the trailer ramps structural cross members you will have the steel mesh stretching at some point in time. You can offset this issue with a piece of plywood to use when loading and unloading.

Great little trailer for the $

This will be my third summer using this little guy to haul my mowers around for my side business and it works perfect. HOWEVER, after about a year, I decided to haul my Harley from Pa. to Tenn and thought I'd check the wheel bearings first and to my surprise one side was bad. After a quick trip to TSC, I quickly replaced the both bearings and seal on the one side. As an after thought, I reported it to Carry-on who in turn had me contact the axle company. They were SUPER! They sent me a whole new set of heavier hubs and all new bearings free of charge. Great service. Needless to say, the trip was a success. Trailers at highway speeds like a dream.

DEFINATELY NOT LONG LASTING

I HAVE NOTICED THAT MOST ALL REVIEWS ARE BASED ON SHORT TERM OWNING. Allow me to provide long term use to this review. I have had this now going on 4yrs. I have had to replace the latches because welds had cracked that hold the gate up. I used barn door latches bought and attached them to the trailer by drilling 2 1/4" holes and using stainless bolts. By using barn latches, I can now use a lock on the latch to secure the lift gate. I cut 6" off the lift gate finding it was longer than what was needed for reasonable service. After doing so, I then put 90deg. aluminum angle iron on the end where I shortened the lift gate. I suspect that traveling at spds (70) the wind load on the lift gate added in the latches breaking. The bolt that secures the trailer beam to the trainer frequently loosens up. I sprayed the floor mesh with epoxy black and then placed 1/2" plywood down as a floor placing 1/4" bolts through the mesh and using fender washers top and bottom to secure the plywood. None of these changes were costly and greatly improved this trailer. The barn door type latches were the greatest improvement. It gave me the ability to place 2 small locks which resist the lowering of the lift gate when not attended. I may modify this review at a later date and provide a few photos. I base my recommendation on long lasting and long term use. Research all trailers before making your final decission.

Good size

I have just purchased this trailer used. It is a good size for me and seems to be in good condition. However, when pulling it, I hear a noise that sounds like bearing noise, but after pulling about 12 miles at highway speeds, the bearings were not hot at all. I’m wondering if this is a normal noise for this trailer. Also, I see no grease fittings to be able to pump more grease into the bearings.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Yes Sir the bearings would be hot if they were going out. I would not think the bearings are making the noise. If the axle is an EZ (easy lube) there would be a rubber plug in the dust cap. Pull the plug out and there would be a grease zerk behind it. The only normal trailer noise I am aware of would be the safety chains. Carry-OnTrailer

Non-existent quality control

Trailer looks good and sturdy for homeowner use. Unfortunately, even though we went through the motions of checking the lights, when I got home, he didn’t even plug them into my vehicle. After I got home and realized this, when I plugged them in, they still didn’t work. The passenger side wire is pulled out of the light and the drivers side is smashed between the light and the frame. I haven’t repaired them yet and I sure hope the lights themselves aren’t damaged too. I’m really disappointed after waiting a month for delivery that the quality control didn’t catch this.
