Item Information

The Hobart Handler 210MVP Multi-Voltage Plug (MVP) provides flexibility to use either 115V or 230V input power in a twist, no tools required. The Handler 210MVP will automatically adjust itself to the correct input power providing superior arc performance regardless of the power source. It is the one portable MIG welder that has 210 Amps of welding power packed into a portable case. Arc starts are crisp and direct, keeping post-weld clean-up to a minimum. The compact design gives you a professional grade welder without reducing your space limitations on a farm "crash truck" or in the shop.

  • Comfortable 10 ft. H100S4-10 MIG welding gun, built-in gas valve, dual gauge regulator and gas hose, 10 ft. work cable with clamp, power cord with plug, sample spool of .030 in. flux-cored welding wire, extra .030 in. contact tips and 8 in. wire spool adapter
  • Welds 24 ga. up to 3/8 in. mild steel in a single pass
  • Operates on 115V or 230V input power
  • 7 voltage settings which help fine tune for precision welding (7 voltage settings at 230 V; 4 voltage settings at 115 V)
  • 115V 25 to 140 output Amperage; 230V 25 to 210 output Amperage
  • Duty cycle - 115V 20% at 90 As; 230V 30% at 150 As
  • Special choke design offers unbelievable arc characteristics on all metal types
  • Quick change drive roll system - no tools required
  • Dual groove drive rolls make it easy to switch between 023/.025 in. and .030-.035 in. wire
  • Self-resetting thermal overload system protection with exterior LED
  • Built-in contactor eases use and is an excellent safety feature which makes wire electrically "cold" when not welding
  • Spool gun control circuitry for the optional SpoolRunner 100 direct plug-in spool gun which alleviates feeding problems with aluminum wire
  • Manufacturers limited warranty

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price for an awesome welder. Bought about a month ago. Great welder especially for the price. Added shielding gas for MIG welding. Makes it so easy to do clean professional looking welds. Any pro would love this too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great machine I bought this machine to replace a Millermatic 180 that blew up on me while I was welding with it. I loved that machine, I had it for about 12 years and it was a tough machine. I had my doubts that I could be as happy with a new machine as tools seem to get cheaper and cheaper. I am pleasantly surprised as to how smooth and powerful the 210 is. It's about the same exact size as the 180 I had but feels like its 30 pounds heavier. The gun lead is a bit longer and very heavy duty. The machine has exceeded my expectations for sure.

I bought this about a year ago, great machine, it works great for what i use it for! My question is do they make a longer gun/cable other than the 10' that comes with it? this is the only complaint I have is that the 10' cable is sometimes just not enoug.

Asked by: bcollins1128
Hobart does not make a longer gun for these units. 10' is the maximum recommended gun length for the Handler models.

Will this welder run dual shield flux core wire?

Asked by: Hogugly
The unit has not been tested with any dual shield wires. If you have a specific wire in mind please contact Hobart Technical Support at 1-800-332-3281. The wire specs will be compared to the units output specs to see if it can be run on the 210MVP.

Will this work for working on my 72 c10 pickup body? Need to weld cab corners and rocker panels

Asked by: C10 junkie
Yes it will. If converted to solid wire and gas it will perform great for your application. Welding thinner sheet metal with flux cored gasless wire tends to be more difficult but can be done as well with this unit.

my plan is be able to use this unit out in the field also with the Hobart plasma cutter what size generator would i need that could handle this welder and the plasma cutter

Asked by: texas fireman
To operate this unit on 230 volt input you would need a generator capable of providing 35 amps of 230 volt power(8000 watts) continuous.

can i run this welder with a 50' 12 / 3 extension cord on the 115 volts

Asked by: mikie s 781
It will operate on a 50' 12 gauge cord but at that length when using the higher ranges you could experience power drop during extended weld times.

can this welder weld Steel & Alum & Brass & what will I need to do this? or is there a different Hobart welder better suited for doing all three metals?

Asked by: Cherylc
This unit will do Steel, Stainless and Aluminum with the proper wire and gas. Brass cannot be welded with an arc welding process.
