Excellent for Small Jobs

The 250 CI works really good for applications up to 1/8, anything larger than that it will cut, but is a bit slow. I use it for autobody and it workks great in this application. Furthermore, being 110 offers unmatched portablity compared to the larger units.

Cuts well but has issues

I bought this a couple months ago and it has definitely done its job. Sheet metal to 1/4" thick steel. All good. Two issues though, moisture from air comp. and faulty plug. I had to plumb in a water trap and buy a seemingly heavier duty plug. Now it seems to be unstoppable!

Purchased this and it would not cut anything. To me, it seems that the built in air compressor is not strong enough. Also, the consumables looked used when I opened the box. Either someone else had the same issue and returned it, or it was tested before packaging and the consumables were not replaced.
Tractor Supply took it back immediately. No issues with Tractor Supply at all. They offered an exchange, but I declined. I had asked a few other welders and they said that they liked this Hobart, but they found that they needed an external air compressor for it to work properly (defeats the entire purpose).
Instead, I purchased a YesWelder DS-55PRO. Yes, it has to be hooked up to my air compressor. But it works well and it cuts thicker steel than the Hobart advertises as its high end of cutting capability. Best part is that it is a little over 1/4 of the price of this Hobart.
