A small bench lathe with impressive torque for small parts production.First and foremost, it features a special "Big Boy" tailstock which was designed with the same convenient quick-locking controls and extra-long footprint previously only found on our much larger lathes.

It also features variable-speed spindle controls with digital RPM display for dialing in the perfect cutting speed, a two-speed gearbox for the extra torque needed when turning at lower speeds and the ability to cut a wide range of inch and metric threads.

This lathe includes all the essential standard equipment you'll need to get up and running including: a 3-jaw chuck with internal and external jaws, 5" faceplate, steady rest, 4-way turret tool post and MT#2 and MT#3 dead centers.

Like all of the Grizzly lathes, the G0765 comes with a 1-year warranty covering parts and assuring the unit is free from factory defects.

The G0765 manual was written by our U.S.-based Documentation Department is packed with useful information.

It's certainly not the quality we aim to deliver, and we're sorry to hear about your experience with the lathe. Benchtop units are designed to be more compact and portable, making them ideal for smaller projects and workshops with limited space. Please reach out to our Customer Service team, and we'll work to resolve the issue. We value your business and look forward to hearing form you soon.

    7 x 14 Lathe Review.

This is definitely a small, light duty lathe. It will require some tweaking and adjusting to make it less susceptible to chatter. It will required complete disassembly to clean it. This was not done very well at the factory. The ways on the cross slide are not that good and could use some fitting and adjusting. Overall a good starter lathe.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Needs a lot of work

This review is not so much to entirely place any blame on Grizzly but rather to the factory that makes this 7 x 14 lathe. First a little history. I bought the lathe, tail stock chuck and a tool bit set in 2017 and had it shipped up to my friend to exclusively use it for turning small wooden spools for his small working business to help him as he was struggling financially, he never turned a single metal item on it. In December of 2022 he called and said he closed his business and said if I wanted it back to come get it. I drove 880 miles round trip to get it. It still looked brand new, not a blemish or anything on it. Got home and set up and started to use it. I adjusted all gibs and made a cut, this lathe needed more work. Even with the gibs adjusted properly there was still movement in the carriage and compound rest. Not only would the carriage move while doing facing cuts, the compound rest would move down while doing turning. In addition the compound rest adjustable setting ring would bind up on in-feed. I had to machine locks for the carriage and compound and resolve the binding on the setting ring. Everything seems good, nope, did a facing cut with all the locks tightened and now I discovered the headstock is not aligned causing tapered facing and turning cuts. Well add this to the plastic gears and bushings I would say consider all the work you will need to do prior to purchasing. BTW, not a new user, been using lathes since 1973, currently have (2) smaller USA made lathes (Taigs) and I used 12” lathes while I was employed. In conclusion, I think Grizzly should have a machinist evaluate these lathes, give recommendations to the factory that protrudes them and make improvements so they are ready to use when you receive them.
