I recently picked one of these up to carry on my Jeep for trail riding as the compact dimensions were perfect. I needed to cut down a couple of smaller dead trees in the yard and I thought I would give this a try instead of digging out the chainsaw. Wow. Cuts better than I would have imagined. It dropped the trees in less time than it would have taken me to dig out the chainsaw and get it started. Cleaning up the fallen trees, it went through many of the branches in a single chop. After years of using cheap axes and accepting them as the norm, I'm glad I tried a quality tool and experienced the difference. The lifetime warranty is a nice bonus.

This axe is deceptively junk. It looks like a quality product and the blade is razor sharp but after 2 hours of clearing out a grove of small (2-3 inch) cottonwood saplings the blade is chipped and folded over. I make knifes as a hobby and after examining the blade it is either made with a low-carbon steel (I.e. not the kind for making blades with) or it was not properly heat treated. The rest of the construction is solid and it feels good to swing but if the blade is damaged that badly with light work it’s really not an axe.
