It is awesome works great

Excellent splitting maul. Much easier on your body than an 8lb maul, but will still bust through stuff that the X27 struggles with. I spent a little over 3 decades hand splitting all of my firewood. My primary tool was an 8 lb maul. About 7 years ago my rotator cuff started having issues and I had to put the 8 lb maul away. I can still swing it some, but after 10 to 12 swings, I'm done. Any more than that and I won't be able to lift my right arm for 3 to 6 months. I bought a used hydraulic splitter and it does the heavy work now, but I still split a lot with my X27 (good exercise). For those rounds were the X27 is going to struggle a little bit, the 6lb isocore is perfect. It halves the rounds pretty easily and then its back to the X27. Between the two I can still split for several hours and not have any shoulder issues the next day. Not sure if that would be true if I only used the 6 lb maul, but I CAN run it quite a bit without issues. It doesn't split everything, but for the few things it doesn't split I don't mind using the hydraulic splitter, or a chainsaw if its too heavy to lift onto the splitter. So far I've run through a couple cords of hickory using these two tools, and I'd gladly buy the 6 lb isocore again. Way faster to stand up 10 or 12 large rounds and bust them up by hand than it is to roll them over to the hydraulic splitter, lift them up onto the splitter, split them, and then toss the splits into a pile. The hydrauilcs still have their place, but the X27 and 6lb maul make a very effective and efficient combination.

Works Great! So I glad I spent a little extra $ to get the Fiskars after reading other reviews. It works better than my old, ordinary 6lb maul. So far used on dry walnut rounds. Easy splitting, and a good work out!

Do you have mine for two months and the handle broke
