I was told not to leave reviews, but they keep asking for my input. I want to win the gift card, but i do not want to lose my job. Why do they keep asking?

Needs improvement

Plastic holds chain bar in place. Not likely to hold up. Would rate higher if this was metal. Battery lasts less than 30 minutes so it is hard to get much done. It is great to not worry about mixing gas or pull starting though.

Good for yard work, but not a work horse

Going to try and give a fair review of the saw, battery life, and value to work. I will start this off by saying I’m fully aware that I was using the saw to the extreme end of what it should be used for. I had a Red Oak fall in my backyard and all of my gas saws were currently out of commission. Purchased the 16” 60volt saw to use around the house on limestone and bigger trim jobs that we have once this cleanup is finished. The lightweight of the saw makes it easier for my wife to grab for things she does in the yard. Now the tree that I’m currently using it for is about a 36” at the base, and averaging 20”-10” cuts on most of trunk up. On a full charge and sharp chain I’m getting about 4 cuts. Haven’t been baring down on it, just letting the motor and chain do the work to cut through with the usual seasawing to work the bar in the tree. This tree would not be something I would recommend using this saw on as a whole, but for smaller tree and limbs 10” and under it has worked well. In that size range I have been getting around 8-10 cuts per charge, again with a sharp chain. If all you have in mind is light home/yard use then it should serve you well, but as far as any heavier cutting would have to say a gas saw is a much better fit. For the cost of a second battery to fit I could cover half to 2/3rds the cost of a new gas saw. (Cheaper one and 16-18” bar). Over all have been satisfied with the saw and how it has preformed for the smaller cuts, but can say without a doubt it’s not going to replace a gas saw if you are needing a work horse. Hope this helps.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The little big secret…

Among the best piece of home equipment ever. Got this little baby home and put it to work immediately. It performed like a champion. Just remember, before you apply it to the item to be cut, get the blade moving. Cut like a hot knife through butter.

Dewalt 16" chainsaw

This is an excellent performing chainsaw. Only used it up to 10" tree trunks. Quieter, lighter, and perhaps faster cutting than gas chainsaws I have owned. Think I'm using an 6 AH battery, that has ALWAYS lasted longer than my chores. Rare from me, I would recommend this Dewalt product, DCH

Poor Quality

SHAME ON DEWALT - DON’T BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made a mistake of believing the advertising on the DeWalt electric 60 V chainsaw. The saw is a decent saw. However, the battery technology just is not there! You will be lucky to get 3 to 5 minutes out of a fully charged battery which means you need a whole pile of them to get any serious work done. And at a cost of anywhere from $150-$250 of battery (which is downright stupid and insulting to the consumer) I would never buy a DeWalt product again. In my opinion, they flat out lied about their performance claims on the DeWalt 60 V chainsaw. After buying and calculating the total cost of buying the saw and all the batteries I needed, I determined I could buy 2 to 3 gas chainsaws for what I’ve got invested in this piece of junk. The DeWalt name used to mean something good. Not anymore!
