1st raccoon captured was able to escape. He broke a hinge and bend the trip wire. The gate doesn’t lock, just held by spring when tripped. Brackets also slip out from clips so I used zip ties to secure brackets and hinges.

This works well. The cage is easy to set up but when setting the trap, it can be tricky because where the trip mechanism connects to the trip plate it is not a secure connection. But once you figure it out it is a good trap.

Easy to set up and it works, but is not going to withstand a decent size raccoon. I wish there was more room between the trigger plate and the back of the trap.
