The Victor Electronic Rat Trap is the ultimate in rodent control. It works by delivering a humane, high-voltage shock to kill rats that enter the chamber. This powerful device is capable of killing up to 35 rats per set of fully charged batteries (4 AA), making it a great value for sizeable infestations. It's also easy to use. Simply apply a small amount of bait on the rear shock plate, turn the trap on, and place it along the wall near signs of rodent activity. After a catch, an LED light blinks green, so you know when it's time to empty the trap without having to check the chamber. In case of false triggers, this trap is designed with an automatic re-arming feature so the trap can be triggered again without you needing to reset it. For your convenience, the trap's design allows for No-See, No-Touch rodent disposal. When the batteries are low, the LED light will flash red.

Q&As

Q: Can a kitten or cat get inside?

1 Answer
  • Woodstream Team
A: Thanks for reaching out! A kitten or cat is not able to enter the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap. The entrance is too small for pets, and the trap is designed to target rodents only. For best results, place the unit in areas where you’ve seen rodent activity and always use the trap as directed.

Q: I found a dead rat in the trap and the metal plates were dirty (rat fir and I'm not sure what else). I dumped the rat out and was able to get some of the debris off, but not all of it. How clean do the metal plates have to be to kill the next rat?

1 Answer
  • Woodstream Team
A: Use a hydrogen peroxide topical solution (available at most drug stores) and an old toothbrush to clean the inside of the chamber. If needed, use a wire brush to remove any corrosion, being careful not to be too vigorous. This could accidentally remove all of the protective zinc plating.

Excellent trap

I bought this trap about a week ago and so far I've got 6 kills with it. I have dogs so the poison wasn't even an option decided to go with this trap and I'm completely satisfied with it definitely worth the money. I set up a camera to see how many rats there were and the only thing I'm disappointed in was while I was watching the video I saw I had a kill already but then I watched another rat pull the dead rat out of the trap by its tail and went to get the rest of the food so I wish the trap automatically reset itself once it doesn't detect the connection anymore I could have had a 2 for 1 combo last night.

Does NOT work for a lifetime!

I bought one of these very expensive traps about a year ago. It has worked great until this week. So many rodents killed that the inside of the trap is saturated with urine and it has quit working.(I think the rodents lose control of all bodily function when being electrocuted) When I bait the trap, it resets like it always did, but bait is gone with no dead rodent.

Poor Quality

You cant snap it apart or hinge it open to clean it. It doesn't matter anyway, because it doesn't do anything. There's nothing to clean. I put Peanut Butter on the back grate as instructed. I turned it on, it blinked acknowledgement, I put it in my chicken coup. I checked it 2 days later, no rat, no PB either. It's so cheaply made that even if it actually worked it would only be worth $5 or $10.00. I feel cheated.

No, I do not recommend this product.

We're sorry to hear about your experience. For the best results, we recommend placing the trap along a wall or in areas where rodent activity has been noticed, with the entrance aligned to the rodent's natural travel path. In locations such as chicken coops, competing food sources can make the bait less attractive, so placing the trap where rodents are actively traveling and minimizing other food sources when possible can help improve performance. Fresh peanut butter or other high-protein bait placed at the back of the trap is typically most effective.

For cleaning, the kill chamber can be wiped with a damp cloth after the trap is turned off and the batteries are removed. We appreciate your feedback regarding the design and performance, and we're sorry the trap did not meet your expectations.

Specifications don’t match unir

Specifications say it uses C batteries so I bought it because of that. Unfortunately the unit sold uses AA batteries. I bought C batteries and the Tractor Supply store is 20 miles from my house so now I’m stuck with batteries I can’t use and a unit that doesn’t match what I wanted.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry for the frustration caused by the mismatch between the listed specifications and the unit you received. That is understandably disappointing, especially after purchasing batteries based on the original information.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as accurate product details are important for proper preparation and use. Your experience will be shared with our team so the listing information can be reviewed and corrected if needed.

We value your feedback and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Worked great

I got the pack rat living in the truck on the first night. Left part of it tail on the sticky trap and learned how to trip the spring traps (then chew on the wood) this one got it.
