Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Bought this trap to catch ground squirrels. The squirrels go in to have a picnic, but the trap door never closes. There is a metal plate inside the trap that is attached to a rod that holds the spring loaded door open. When an animal walks into the trap and contacts the plate, the rod is suppose to release from the hook that holds it in the loaded position and allow the spring loaded door to come down. This entire mechanical assembly does not work. The weight of a squirrel is not enough to trip the door. I have used “Have a Heart” brand traps in the past with great success. I saw this trap at Tractor Supply and was amazed at the affordable price. I regret my purchase entirely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for squirrels been catching 2 a day. Not sure why some people dont like this trap. You have to set it lightly or yes it wont catch small squirrels. I did alot of trapping when i was young. you have to understand how things work. Push the rod in just a bit to set. if it goes all the way in you will never catch a squirrel

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken after one coon trapped. I bought the trap Saturday and that night caught a coon. Took it out a ways and released the coon in a safe place but far enough he not likely to come back. When I checked to set the trap again the pan was bent and the spring broken. Will not set. Really weak design. Two years ago I bought a similar trap from Tractor Store that has caught several big coons and its still working fine but loaned to a friend in Nevada. Lets get the better ones back.
