Q&As

1 - 10 of 184 Questions

Q: A squirrel does not trip the trigger, how do you make it more sensitive (to trigger with less weight)?

1 Answer
  • A: Do not push the trigger rod deep into the door hook. Set it right on the very edge of the lip so the slightest nudge sets it off.

Q: What size trap for squirrel?

1 Answer
  • A: Small Trap (24" x 7" x 7"): This is the correct size for squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits. It restricts their movement so they do not injure themselves and ensures they heavy up enough on the trip plate to trigger the door

Q: Can this be used to trap an iguana?

1 Answer
  • A: The CountyLine 1-Door Catch-and-Release 2-Pack includes two separate cages:The Small Trap (24" x 7" x 7"): This is too narrow for anything but small juvenile iguanas. An adult's wide stance and long tail will jam the door. The Medium Trap (32" x 12" x 10"): This length is adequate for average iguanas, but a large adult (which can grow over 4 to 5 feet long) will be too long. Their tails will often hang out the back, preventing the spring door from sealing shut.

Q: Does it trap mice too?

1 Answer
  • A: No, these traps are not effective for mice. The mesh dimensions are too large to contain them, and mice are often too light to trigger the sensitive mechanism.

Q: What is the smallest weight that will trigger the trap?

1 Answer
  • A: The CountyLine 1-Door Catch-and-Release 2-Pack contains two distinct sizes optimized for different weight classes: Small Trap (24 in. x 7 in. x 7 in.): Built for lightweight pests. It triggers reliably under the weight of chipmunks, rats, squirrels, and weasels .Medium Trap (32 in. x 12 in. x 10 in.): Built for heavier target pests. It triggers under the weight of stray cats, raccoons, opossums, and groundhogs, which generally weigh 5 to 15+ pounds
