Q: Can I use alfalfa pellets for lawn fertilizer

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, you can use alfalfa pellets like the DuMOR Alfalfa Hay Pelleted Horse Feed as a natural, organic lawn fertilizer. Because alfalfa contains natural nitrogen, potassium, and triacontanol (a fatty alcohol that stimulates plant growth), it acts as a great, slow-release fertilizer that also improves soil health

Q: Are these pellets coated? How long should they soak?

1 Answer
  • A: No, DuMOR Alfalfa Pellets are not coated; they are made of 100% compressed, sun-cured alfalfa hay with no added binders, bentonite, or chemical coatings.Because they are packed tightly and can be quite dense, they should soak for at least 30 minutes in cold water or 15 to 20 minutes in warm/hot water to fully break down into a soft, safe mash.
