Feeding Instructions:
Alfalfa pellets should be fed at ground level and can be soaked with water to form a mash for animals that may have dental issues, feeding disorders or are prone to choke. Feed by weight and not by volume; 1-2% of a horse's weight should be fed daily in hay forages; this amount may vary depending on the animal's nutritional needs and level of activity. Make feed changes gradually over a period of 7 days. Consult your veterinarian or nutritionist to develop a total health care and nutritional program for your animal. All health care programs should include regular deworming, vaccination and dental care.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish there was more but great still Not bad for the price. I wish it was a bigger bag but I can’t complain either

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's okay It is a bit expensive for the size and product. I used it for a little while, but have found more cost efficient feed even if it costs a little more for me to purchase, the bag size offers more for me... I found nothing wrong with the feed itself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from First I have ever seen my horses NOT eat! I don't know what's wrong with this product, but my gluttonous quarter horse and donkey will only eat this stuff if that's all I give them and even then, they will always leave about 10% - 15% uneaten. This stuff must be horrible because in over ten years, I have NEVER seen my quarterhorse refuse any remotely edible food....until now. And I'm not talking one bag or even two or three. Unfortunately, I purchased half a dozen bags of this garbage, all supposedly fresh, and am on the fourth bag with the exact same results. The feed has almost no odor so that should tell you right there, it probably has little nutritional value. I give it them now just as something to munch on if they get really bored but all in all, this was a total waste of horse feed money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I prefer to feed a no grain diet to my horses. I have been feeding a different product and having to add supplements. The other product was a bit more expensive also. I saw the Dumor Large Alfalfa/ Bermuda pellets and they fit my feeding plan and budget perfectly.b

You can feed this alone. Additional roughage is optional. Depending on how hard the horse is working, feed 15-20 lbs of feed per day.

I have the same question. What is the percentage of alfalfa and the percentage of Bermuda? How much grain is in them also. I don't normally feed any grain, but my two love this and I mix it with the Dumor alfalfa/Timothy.

Asked by: Sharon1957
The ratio is 50/50 and the NSC value of the pellets ranges between 7.5-10%.These pellet are forage, and not grain based. The vitamin and mineral pack used in the pellets contains distillers dried grains at an approximate rate of 10 grams per 50# bag.
