Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's Rye Grass Seed, so... It's rye grass seed, so if you're needing to plant rye grass... It was pretty cheap compared to other brands. It sprouted rather quickly, seems to be growing okay. I have no complaints so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TK the horse lady Fair priced and came up well. I use it in my pastures for a little greenery for my horses during the winter

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing winter grass this seed germinates fast if watered 2 time a day I top dress my St Augustine grass here in central Florida. While the Augustine will brown out when it starts getting cold this will Look brilliantly green all winter long When it dies out from the Florida summer sun this adds nutrients to our ground Once established water every other day for 15 min. It's the closest I can find to Kentucky blue grass which will not grow in Florida 5 Star

I see annual but then I see it says dies out in summer, what is preannual? South east mn. Would the DLF Gulf annual ryegrass or what other would work for seeding areas

Asked by: Timstoybox
Ryegrasses -- Both Annual & Perennial -- are planted throughout the US states. Perennial ryegrass seed for permanent lawns are planted from the upper south and Midwest to Northern & Western state areas. Annual ryegrass seed are planted in all areas and will generally die as summer approaches. Perennials are also used in deep southern state areas for winter overseeding where they perform similar to annual ryegrass -- dying and completely dead as summer temperatures arrive.

The difference in Annual Rye and Perenial Rye grass

Asked by: hankw651
Annual grows quickly and will be good for over-seeding applications where bare spots need to be filled in while perennial grasses are dormant. The annual will not come back the next year, whereas perennial will return in future growing seasons.
