Pressure Washers
Tackle tough maintenance work with the power of a pressure washer from Tractor Supply. Whether you're washing a muddy car, blasting debris off concrete or getting grunge off patio furniture, it can deliver the cleansing force you need for dirtier jobs. Explore our wide selection to find the one that’s right for your needs.
Deep-Clean Outdoor Surfaces with Ease
A pressure washer is a fast, effective means of getting rid of stubborn dirt and grime on everything from decks to driveways. They work by pumping water through a nozzle at a certain pressure, measured in pounds per square inch (PSI), and at a certain flow rate, measured in gallons per minute (GPM). Pair one with accessories such as a wand and gun, extension hose and cleaning solution to simplify scrubbing hard-to-reach areas.
Electric vs. Gas Pressure Washers
Pressure washers can either be electric-powered or run on gas. A corded electric model is ideal for small, lower-effort jobs, but choose a battery-powered variant if you need the portability. Both are lightweight and relatively quiet, but they may have lower runtimes than gas models. On the other hand, gas-powered washers are more powerful, making them better for larger, more demanding jobs. Beware that they do need regular maintenance, including oil changes, spark plug replacement and carburetor cleaning.
Pressure Ranges and Flow Rates
For most light-duty cleaning tasks at home, such as sprucing up grill grates, an electric pressure washer with 1,300 to 2,400 PSI and 1.5 to 2.5 GPM may work well. To do a heavier-duty job, such as cleaning a house’s entire exterior or washing off brick or stone surfaces, consider using a gas pressure washer rated at 2,500 to 3,000 PSI or more and 3.0 GPM or higher.
Frequently Asked Questions About Pressure Washers
Which pressure washer is right for me?
That depends on what you need to clean with it, and the PSI and GPM ratings required to do it. The higher the PSI, the more scouring power the washer has, and the better it can remove stuck-on grime from surfaces. The higher the GPM, the wider the area that can be washed, and the faster the job can be done. For example, if you’re cleaning equipment and machinery on an industrial site, you may need to use a commercial-grade pressure washer, which usually has higher PSI ranges and flow rates.
What equipment do I need to use a pressure washer?
Besides the necessary attachments, it'll require a continuous water supply, such as from a tap, and a garden hose to connect to it. You should also wear gloves and goggles, hearing protection such as earplugs, a raincoat or rain pants and rubber boots for safety.
