A powerful machine at a reasonable price point.

The Simpson PowerShot 4000psi pressure washer with Honda pump is a workhorse of a machine. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it had the power to blast the grime off my driveway removing many years of over spray from DIY projects and baked in oil stains. Additionally, I purchased through another vendor a Foam Cannon to make short work of various cleaning tasks including the Tractor, Trucks, and even the brick on my house. I provided five star feedback because it does everything as advertised at about half the price of it's competitor from another well known pressure washer brand. My only complaints thus far are as follows: no pressure gauge to tell what level you have set the pressure to; pressure relief valve is very hard to turn both under pressure and without pressure; the hose is very stiff, just a step better than the cheap pressure washers; the handle is far too short to be useful; and finally it would be nice if there was a tank for chemicals. We have no way to get a bucket underneath the level where it needs to be. But, a gravity feed tank would make things much easier.

Wow...what a disappointment.

Ran for a total of less than 60 seconds - with the trigger pulled before that was a gunshot loud pop and the pump blew with a chance flying across my pool deck. Good thing there was nobody in the way. Called Simpson and their response was that they could let me know the service center near me....no thanks. Thankfully, Tractor Supply took the unit back without question and even apologized for the inconvenience. I research long and hard before deciding on this unit. Not sure what I will purchase now - very concerned about Simpson quality at this point.

Avoid AAA pumps

Avoid any of the homeowner pressure washers with AAA pumps. Mine lasted about 10 hours before complete failure despite being babied. Always purged it for 1 to 2 minutes, changed the oil after the first couple uses, always shut the engine down immediately after I stopped washing, and always stored with pump saver when not in use for extended periods of time. Honda GX engine is great. Replaced the junk AAA pump with a comet that is better matched to the engine's HP rating and I'm back up and running. But, ultimately, could have purchased a professional washer for less money. Don't bother with the extended warranty if you decide to try this. It doesn't kick in on the pump till after 5 years. It will fail within 5 years almost guaranteed and simpson will just deny it. Complete waste of money. The engine and frame won't fail if you take care of them. The pump will, and the 5 year warranty is just to lure people in.
No, I do not recommend this product.
