Khaki, tan, brown and muted greens are easy starting points. Try dark khaki pants with an olive shirt, or brown pants with a lighter tan top. The shades don't need to match exactly; a little contrast keeps each piece from blending into the next.

Start with men's utility shirts for a pocketed everyday top, or men's khaki cargo pants when leg-pocket storage matters most. Follow the garment's care label, since cotton canvas, stretch blends and fleece linings can call for different settings. Empty pockets and fasten closures before washing. Avoid more dryer heat than the label allows, and remove garments promptly to help limit wrinkles.
