Item Information

Effective relief and prevention of colds, roup, scaly legs and eye worm, and as a conditioner for show preparations. for internal and external applications. Contains alcohol, Canada balsam, camphor, oil of origanum and oil of rosemary in a corn oil base. Dosage/Preparation: Use VetRx warm. Add one teaspoonful to one cup very warm water. Place a few drops of the solution, straight from the bottle, down the throat of the bird at night. Also, rub some warm VetRx from the bottle over head of birds and under wings. Directions: Open bird's mouth while turning its head to the side and tilting down so you can see the cleft in the roof of the mouth. Dip a small cotton swab into the warm VetRx. Press swab right into cleft, slowly. Watch for VetRx to come from each side of birds beak and corner of each eye. Clean eyes and rest bird. You may have to repeat treatment 2 or 3 times.

  • For Flock Care - Solution can be sprayed over as many birds as possible. Provide plenty of clean, cool drinking water for the flock. Add a few drops of the solution in drinking water each time you change it.
  • For Show Birds - Place a few drops of solution under one wing. When birds return from shows, keep them separate from the flock for a week. When shanks appear dry, rub a small amount of cold VetRx from the bottle. Repeat every 3 days until birds are no longer dry.
  • For Breeding - Keep 3 quarts of lay mash indoors for a few hours until it reaches room temperature. Warm a bottle of VetRx. Pour entire bottle into mash and mix well. Let stand overnight. Next day, put this solution in container with tight lid and let stand for 2 weeks. Mix 1 Tablespoon of treated mash, once daily, in feed for every 20 birds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommend!!! I bought five hens and the next day noticed some sneezing and could hear them breath which sounded like a harmonica. My sister recommended VetRx and I put it in their water as well as have it to them directly. Out of five hens, three actually came down with the same respiratory symptoms, one stayed well (but I did treat her as a preventative) the other I am still nursing she did not have respiratory symptoms she’s just sleepy. I have dusted her but she’s still on the mend. Four out of five hens are now well, healthy and happy. I definitely recommend this product when adding to your existing flock or if your hens develop a respiratory issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product Purchased as I had a hen with respiratory issues, administrated it as prescribed.. unfortunately lost my hen, maybe she was too far along for it to make a difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vicks for poultry My chicks were starting to sneeze while in their brooder so I read some reviews and decided to give this product a try. It smells great and is like Vicks for poultry! I haven't had any problems since adding it to their water.

I have very sick chickens and can I just give orally ? And how much to each of my birds ?

Asked by: Kaypar23
To prepare the solution, add one (1) teaspoonful of warm VETRx to one cup of very warm water. Vetrx mixes with hot water but floats on top of cold water.
