Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy chick! My chicks liked this over another trio paper package of electrolytes. I had switched to that trio and they WOULD NOT drink it, which was very dangerous for a hot Florida day in June. I put Rooster Booster back in the brooder and they went right to it and kept drinking. Lesson learned. So far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Daily Supplement for Chicken Health Pretty good stuff. I mix it into my chickens' water everyday. I live in a very hot climate where it frequently is in the 100-115 degree heat range during summer. One thing I read is that electrolytes help chickens deal with the heat. This is definitely not a panacea and you should use other methods to help your chickens with their daily dietary needs and heat protection (calcium fortified feed/oyster shells, grit for their crop health). Rooster Booster is definitely a decent supplement in my amateur opinion. Obviously you should strictly adhere to the advice of the manufacturer and on the label in administering this to your chickens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value on the market We have been using this for over a year for both our chicks and hens. We give it year round since we incubate our own eggs. We use to use the product that comes in foil pouches but the cost was prohibitive. The rooster booster is every bit as good if not better. This years chicks seem healthier and more active than last year when we used the other product. There is no comparison price wise. I spend in 1 month what I use to spend in two days with the other brand. I very highly recommend this brand of vitamins and electrolytes.

I have read to use 3-5 days in a row or as needed.  As needed for what?  Why not use everyday?  Is this to be used once a month, once a year or what?

Asked by: Barney 2
The Vitamins & Electrolytes are designed to be used during times of stress. This can include new baby chicks, extreme weather fluctuations, moving to a new home, taking birds to a show or exhibit, molting, etc. Since it contains a couple of oil based vitamins and quite a bit of salt we recommend that it only be used for several days at a time and repeated only as needed. Long term use can create too much in their system.
