I try to make sure my chickens get an extra boost in the colder months. This helps them get fully feathered faster.

My ladies egg production was way down. Almost like a molt but there were only spotty feather loss. Wasnt sure if the cause but wanted to up caloric intake and supplement diet. Started topdressing a scoop of layer pellets in a grain pan every evening when putting them in the coop. First couple days, they weren’t too interested, but then they started running in each evening and flocked around their treats. Within two weeks, egg production went from 3/day to 9/day!! Everybody is happy!!

What can I say? My girls love this stuff! I stir with my hands and the pecked my hands for any leftovers as I walked to the HH door!

We recently got 8 more chicks to add to our chicken flock. They were all fine until they were about a week old. Then three started sitting and would drink or seldom eat. We got Kickin' Chicken to see if it could help. I somewhere read this can happen due to lack of Niacin in a chick's diet. We first made a tiny batch for a drop bottle and fed each chick some of the mixture. Within three days, you could not tell the lame chicks apart from the healthy ones! We added it to the flocks drinking water at first for a few days, then decided to mixit in chopped greens. Now, they are all running around and making happy peep sounds! So happy to have found this. We spread it on a slice of watermelon for our older girls and it seems to be helping them cope with the extreme heat we've been having. Highly recommend for growing chicks.
