Starts easy, light weight, and easy for a 77 year old to use. The most difficult issue to contend with is when the grass collection bag gets a bit more than half full, the front of the mower begins to raise off the grass so we just don’t fill it to capacity. Overall, it’s a great little mower.

Brand new out of the box, the engine will not idle smoothly. The idle surges when started and eventually smooths out, until you start mowing and the engine starts surging again.

I think I gave it a fair try but it does not deliver. I have to go over my lawn multiple passes to get a “cleanish” cut and my neighbors multi blade unit makes my toro look like a disgraceful joke of an attempt at a “clean” lawn. The mulching is good but the cut is very inefficient using the stock mower blade. I don’t feel that after spending this much I should be forced to upgrade the stock part for the machine to be considered decent. The bagging seemed okay. Pulling it backwards even with the transmission disengaged really is a drag and kicks you out of the lawn mowing “zone”. It completely destroys any zen and peace in a man mowing his lawn. I don’t know why they don’t have a multi blade model as an option, no not the timemaster, it’s too heavy for my lawn and only has 2 separated blades.

I am a 68 year old physically fit woman, and using this mower is like wrestling a bear. If you want a strenuous work forget getting an expensive gym memberships and buy this mower instead. The mowers self propelled system fights me all the way and takes me twice as long to mow the lawn than my old Toro Recycler non-self propelled mower. If going forward in a straight line, it does fine... but if you need to go back and forth to maneuver around trees, bushes, flowerbeds, clothesline, fences, fence posts, propane tank, hose bibs, rocks, etc., its a rigorous workout! IT IS A PURE BATTLE OF WILLS TO GET IT TO GO BACKWARDS!!! Within the first 5 minutes when pulled backwards it pulled off and chewed up its rear rock deflector flap. As soon as the grass bag had any significant amount of any grass clippings in it the mower becomes back heavy and makes going backwards a wrestling match as the bag makes the mower tip backwards. The rear wheels frequently locks up and refuses to roll backwards, so I'm pulling a dead weigh. The reason this self propelled mower was purchased was to make mowing easier not harder. Using this mower is an exhausting workout!
