I delayed my review in order to operate the mower at least three times. I found that the mower is very compatible with gas lawn mowers. The mower is very simple to operate, and it speeds up when there is thicker grass. I used all three modes bagging, side discharge and mulching. This mower is very powerful and self-propelled is super-fast. I purchased the extra battery since I have 1/2 acre of grass to cut. There was plenty of power left after I completed cutting the property. Overall, very pleased with the unit.

Love being able to just put the battery in and go! Easy enough the wife can use it!

I've used this mower two weekends so far. My lawn size is about 3/4 acre. I set it up to mulch the lawn and it does a beautiful job. Even with taller grass, the clippings are small enough and distributed well such that no piles of cut grass are left behind. As with any mower, you do need to overlap your cuts a few inches. It has an automatic feature that increases the cutting RPM if it detects tall or wet grass...very useful! Battery life: The 5.0AH battery that came with it needed to be recharged after about a half-acre of cutting. I've since purchased a second 2.5AH battery and can finish the lawn with the two batteries plugged in. A nice feature is that the mower will use up the first battery then automatically switch to the second without having to stop. Charging time per battery is as advertised, about 45 minutes. Self propelled feature: When I purchased our home in the late 80's, I bought a Craftsman gas powered self-propelled 21" mower. With bagging, it took about 2 hours to cut my lawn because there was only one speed. It had a mulching blade that didn't work very well. The Bad Boy has variable adjustable speed and I can fly through the lawn much faster...and not have to bag the clippings. Reason for purchase: I used a Scotts 42" lawn tractor (made by Deere) for over 30 years before the mower deck finally gave out. The cost to replace the deck is more than I would spend on the Bad Boy, and I got tired of fueling and maintaining the gas engine. So, I decided to go back to a smaller mower that would give me more exercise. I'm happy with the purchase so far. I looked at EGO but determined that the Bad Boy had better reviews and materials.

Starts right up. Plenty of power and the self propelled system pulls it along great. Cut 7000sq ft in half an hour. Barely used any battery.
