  • Certified Noxious Weed Free

Ingredients:
Naturally Sun-Cured Premium Western Timothy Grass Forage .

Guaranteed Analysis:
Crude Protein (min.) 8%
Crude Fat (min.) 1.5%
Crude Fiber (max.) 35%

Feeding Instructions:
On average most horses comfortably consume 2% of their body weight in dry forage per day. This equates to 20 lb. of dry forage per day for a 1000 lb. horse. Standlee recommends that you weigh the amount of forage provided to each horse to ensure you are feeding the proper amount. Standlee also recommends that pelleted and cubed forage not be the sole source of forage since feeding some long-stem forage (hay) may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices. Feed Standlee Premium Western Forage at a minimum rate of 1.5% of body weight per day. Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee Premium Western Forage over a 7-10 day period. Replace existing hay on a 1 to 1 basis with Standlee Premium Western Forage. Standlee Premium Western Forage is recommended to be fed wet, soaked in water for 30 minutes or until properly softened, for horses that have dental problems or for horses that aggressively consume their feed. Never feed moldy or insect infested forage to horses. Always provide free-access to fresh, clean water. If you have questions, please contact the nutritionists at Standlee Premium Western Forage, or consult with your veterinarian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Donkey loves them My donkey is very old and his teeth are not the best. He prefers these pellets due to their small size over timothy hay most of the time. I mix it in with his feed so I know he is getting enough nutrients. I'll keep buy this for him!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product We are feeding a 32-year-old pony on these timothy pellets. She has no teeth, so her feed has to be soaked. These pellets soak quickly and easily into the perfect consistency for her to eat. Quality is very consistent, and has been keeping the pony healthy and happy in her old age.

What is the rate that this is fed at? 20 pounds per 1000lb horse? Or did I read that wrong?

Asked by: ShelbyL
Thank you for you question. Standlee recommends that horses be fed by weight and not by volume at the rate of 1.5% to 2.5% of their body weight per day in forages. With that said a 1,000lb horse can consume anywhere from 15 to 22lbs of forage per day. Thank you
